Chapter 8

  • Samantha's POV:
  • "Gentlemen, as promised we have come up with the design for the new game and the development has already started," I kept going through the slides explaining each one of them as the clients were listening to me intently. We were in the conference room along with the whole team.
  • "So when can we expect the final product?" One of the clients with blonde hair asked, interrupting me.
  • "By the end of October," I smiled politely and they nodded in understanding.
  • "Can we see any part of the development since you mentioned that your team has already started working on it?"
  • I looked at David in shock. He didn't mention that I had to prepare slides for the development progress also. He had a look on his face that said he had no idea about it and I let out a huge sigh.
  • "Uhh....well...I don't think there is much to show as we just started working," I tried to convince them but they were stubborn as hell.
  • "Anything is fine, Ms. Perez."
  • I started to sweat and swallowed hard. This was so unlike me. I took a deep breath and tried to come up with anything but my mind went blank.
  • Oh god! This was humiliating.
  • "Of course, we can show you." I heard Nate's voice and lifted my head to see him, standing up with his laptop, and relief flooded through me. He gave me a look that said 'I've got this' and stood beside me. He started explaining the work he did with the back end team and I sat down, to not take away his spotlight. He worked hard to complete this and to be honest, it was pretty impressive.
  • "This is really good and I'm happy with the progress, Ms.Perez. We can wind up the meeting if that is all," The blonde-haired guy spoke again and stood up, extending his hand.
  • "Thank you so much for your time," We all said our goodbyes, and everyone started to leave the room.
  • "Nate?" I called out just as he was about to walk out of the room and he turned around with a surprised look on his face.
  • "Did you just call me 'Nate'?" he asked with a playful glint in his eyes and that's when I realized that I indeed called him by his first name.
  • "Thank you so much for what you did out there. You just saved the day and I'm really grateful for that," I dismissed his question and thanked him sincerely with a small smile and he smirked, coming closer, zeroing the distance between us.
  • "Of course, I wasn't going to let those men make you sweat." he grinned widely and I knew there was a inner dirty meaning in his sentence. I tried to fight the smile that was threatening to break out on my face. I wasn't going to lie. I was sexually attracted to this hot piece of ass, right in front of me and I just couldn't help myself. He was so freaking hot and I wanted to do all kinds of dirty sinful things to him. I know I was playing with fire here but my mind was clouded by my desires.
  • "You want to grab some lunch?" I asked, surprising myself and he raised his eyebrows.
  • "You are full of surprises today, aren't you?" he chuckled which made his eyes shine.
  • Dang! He was cute too.
  • "Just to appreciate your work with the back end team and also...uhhh to have that 'talk'," I explained, collecting my things from the table.
  • "Right, public place." he sighed and made his way towards the door but stopped suddenly and turned around, making me bump into his chest.
  • "You do know that this," he gestured between us and continued," is always going to be there behind closed doors and outside this door also right?"
  • "What do you mean by 'this' ?" I whispered, looking straight into his grey orbs.
  • "Chemistry, baby girl." He rolled his eyes and I smirked, pushing him away.
  • "We will see about that, Mr. Wilson. Come on," I walked out of the room with my head held high and he followed me right behind.
  • "Whoa! What happened to 'Nate' ?" he asked, pouting like a kid and I narrowed my eyes at him.
  • "Don't push it," I mumbled and kept walking. Soon we were in the parking lot, the ride to the nearby restaurant was quiet and neither of us spoke a word.
  • "So is this a date?" he asked after a while.
  • "No. Business Lunch," I replied too quickly and I saw him nodding from the corner of my eye.
  • "How often do you have business lunch with your colleagues?" he questioned again.
  • Never, I wanted to say.
  • "Why do you care? Just appreciate the gesture," I muttered and he hummed in response.
  • "Do you live around here?"
  • "Oh my god! What is this? Twenty questions?" I exclaimed, making him laugh out loud.
  • "Jeez! I'm just trying to have small talk and also I love riling you up," he smirked as I pulled over at the restaurant.
  • "You are such an ass." I sighed, unbuckling my seat belt, and got out of the car.
  • "Shall I bring your usual?" The waiter asked and I shook my head, my eyes going wide. I didn't want Nate to know what I eat regularly. It would be embarrassing.
  • "I'll have Caesar's salad," I smiled and looked at Nate.
  • "What's your usual?" he asked and I glared at him for a good twenty seconds before he gave up and turned his attention to the waiter.
  • "I'll have the...Bacon-wrapped chicken breast with spicy garlic sauce," He gave his order and put the menu down while I scrunched my nose at the sound of garlic.
  • "What?"
  • "I hate garlic." I made a face and he gasped at my response.
  • "Have you ever eaten garlic bread?"
  • "No."
  • "Then how can you say you don't like garlic without even eating garlic bread?"
  • "The smell of it makes me sick." I protested while he just laughed at my response.
  • "You are missing out on some great stuff out there, Ms.Perez." he shook his head in disappointment and I couldn't help but smile at how normal he was. He was such a plain and down to earth person who was cocky sometimes. Oh, and did I mention hot as fuck? Soon the food arrived and we started to eat quietly.
  • "We are outside the office, baby girl." He started and I looked at him confused.
  • "So? And stop calling me that," I tried to sound annoyed even though the way he called me 'baby girl' every time sent tingles down my spine. No one has ever given me a nickname before.
  • "So you can just let loose and enjoy this lunch. You make me seem like a boring person and trust me I'm not boring at all." he chuckled and I realized that he was true. I was always so reserved and had a wall around myself for obvious reasons. I could be a little friendly, after all, I was the one who asked him out for lunch.
  • "Fine, what do you want to talk about?" I asked, taking a bite of my food.
  • "Why gaming?" he blurted out like he was waiting to ask that question and I wasn't surprised, to be honest.
  • "Well, I started to play games to distract myself initially, and then I found myself curious to learn all about it and while playing, I used to get a lot of ideas to develop new games. I guess that's how it all started," I explained quietly, playing with my food and flicked my eyes to see him gazing at me fondly.
  • Oh fuck, stop looking at me like that.
  • "What about you?" I cleared my throat and asked him.
  • "I don't have an interesting response. You know guys and video games just click together," he chuckled a bit and I smiled at his response. I was surprised to find myself having a decent conversation with him and we spoke a little about work and regular stuff.
  • "Scoot over," he commanded and I raised my eyebrows.
  • "Excuse me,"
  • "You wanted to talk about 'it' in a public place right so let's talk whilst being close and see if we can keep our hands off each other," he stood up and sat down by my side and I could instantly felt the warmth radiating from his body.
  • "You must be crazy to think that I'm going to jump your bones in public," I let out a shaky breath and he looked down at me.
  • "A guy can dream, baby girl." he smirked, pushing himself closer towards me and our knees were touching.
  • "Wha---What the hell are you doing?" I hissed, fearing that someone could see us.
  • "Relax, I'm not doing anything, baby girl. I swear, no dirty business," he turned towards me, "Unless you want me to," he whispered, making me swallow hard in anticipation.
  • Oh my god!
  • "Look, I am your boss. You can't sit so close," I breathed out, not looking at him even once and fixed my gaze to the plate in front of me.
  • "We are not in the office so technically you are not my boss here," I glared at him and cursed under my breath.
  • He was right.
  • "Fine, let's talk. Hands were I can see them," I instructed and he looked like he was trying so hard to suppress his smile.
  • "Okay, so we should stop doing what we were doing earlier to--today as it is wrong," I stuttered a little as I was constantly aware of his knee touching mine. I could feel my entire body burning up and I badly wanted to squeeze my thighs together but I didn't want him to get the message that I was affected by his touch.
  • "Sounds about right," he rested his chin on his right hand and kept gazing at me intently.
  • "And from now, I'll come to your cubicle if I need anything." I cleared my throat and slightly moved in my seat, getting a whiff of his musky cologne.
  • "Okay, that's agreeable." he nodded and I held his gaze. My eyes flicked down below the table and I suddenly started to feel so hot, his hands were so close to my thighs and he slowly moved his hands like he was reading my mind.
  • "Nate, don't," I whispered in a shaky voice even though my mind was screaming at me to spread my legs wider.
  • "Don't what?" he asked in a husky voice, his gaze not leaving mine even for a second, "Just tell me to stop, baby girl, and I will but god help me, I don't want to stop." He whispered against my ears and his hot breath tickled my neck, making me shudder in delight. I took a look around and found that the restaurant wasn't crowded and the people were oblivious to what was happening under our table.
  • I closed my eyes and slowly opened my legs wider and that was all he needed to slip his hands between my thighs, making me squirm in my seat.
  • "Tell me to stop," he whispered and I shook my head while his fingers grazed against my inner thighs, dangerously close to my core.
  • "God, touch me already." I hissed in frustration, making him chuckle and he pushed my panties aside and touched my now wet core. I bit my lip to control my moan.
  • "Sweet Jesus, You are so fucking wet." He groaned as his fingers traced the slick length of my pussy.
  • "Oh god!" I gripped his arm tighter as he inserted one finger inside me and slowly finger fucked me.
  • "You should seriously stop responding like this, Ms. Perez. It turns me on even more." He spoke, continuing his sweet torture with his skillful hands and I threw my head back, coming all over his hands and my vision went blank.
  • Fuck, that was fast.
  • I opened my eyes and found him licking his hands clean, making me blush a deep shade of red. I tucked my hair behind my ears and cleared my throat.
  • "Well, I was right." he beamed proudly, wiping his hands clean and handed me some tissue.
  • "About what?" I asked whilst cleaning myself.
  • "We can never keep our hands off each other in private or in public and," he paused, looking into my eyes, "You taste just as I imagined," he whispered with a small smile and I chewed on my bottom lip, wondering what was happening between us. We had crossed all boundaries of being professional and I could feel my heart racing wildly against my chest.
  • "Are you still trying to get over your best friend?" I blurted out, something that was bothering me for a long time and he was taken aback by my question. I saw an unfamiliar emotion pass through his eyes and he moved away from me slightly.
  • For some reason, I felt a sting in my heart by his actions.
