• The shadow beast stands in front of me like a mountain made of smoke and fire. Its red eyes lock on me, and it lets out a roar so loud that the trees shake and birds fly from the sky. The ground trembles under its heavy feet. My heart pounds, but I don’t back down. I can’t. My daughter is waiting for me. Victor is waiting for me. And I won’t let fear stop me now.
