Chapter 1 Madame Switzerland

  • Madame Switzerland
  • The car stops at the hotel entrance, and I step out, glancing around. Holding my purse tightly, I head toward the room where Bruno was staying. Being who we are makes it much easier to get the information or anything else we need. Entering unannounced is one of those privileges.
  • I notice a few eyes lingering on me, and suspicion starts to creep in. Picking up my pace, I step into the elevator with a growing sense that something isn’t right. I place my hand inside my purse, gripping the small gun hidden within. As the doors open, I spot our security guard, and his face turns pale the moment he sees me.
  • “What’s wrong, man? Did you think I’d abandoned my husband?” I ask, laughing.
  • Hassan steps in front of me as I narrow my eyes at the guard, who swallows hard. He’s clearly realized that I’m not in the best mood.
  • “Ma’am, I don’t think the boss is in his room.”
  • I narrow my eyes at Hassan, finding it odd. The Arab, assigned to our security detail, isn’t one to lie.
  • “My goddess… I’m crazy about you, my love…”
  • I widen my eyes, hearing the voice coming from the door beside me.
  • I reach into my purse and point my gun at the damn security guard, demanding he open the door. He refuses.
  • With some effort and persuasion, I manage to convince him after handing him the gun. As he unlocks the door and I step inside the room, the worst scene imaginable unfolds before me.
  • A woman with hair the same color as mine—but longer—was riding him with desire, her moans mingling with his, making it clear they were enjoying themselves. I couldn’t deny it: she was beautiful, but she wouldn’t remain so for much longer.
  • “What the hell is this?” I shout, furious.
  • I tried not to scream, but I couldn’t stop my voice from coming out louder than usual.
  • When they realized I was in the room, I saw Bruno’s eyes shift from me to the woman straddling him. He pulled away from her, and I noticed he wasn’t even wearing protection. The woman scrambled to the headboard, clutching a sheet to cover herself, while Bruno struggled to steady himself and get closer to me.
  • Looking around, I noticed several bottles scattered across the room. Grabbing one of the whiskey bottles, I hurled it at his face. The impact made him stagger but didn’t knock him down.
  • “Damn, that hurts, my goddess,” he muttered, holding his face.
  • “You bastard, I’m going to kill you!” I threatened, my voice even louder.
  • Hassan tried to hold me back, but I shook him off. I grabbed another bottle and threw it at Bruno, but this time, Hassan’s arms wrapped around me tightly.
  • “Ma’am, I’m sorry, but I can’t allow this,” he whispered in my ear.
  • His arms circled my waist, and he carried me out of the room. We stopped in front of the room where Vanessa was staying, and I started making a scene.
  • I tried talking to Vanessa, but my rage was exploding. Even with the overwhelming anger, I knew I wouldn’t let this insult go unnoticed.
  • The next day, we returned to Carrillo’s house. I had already decided to spend some time with Gustavo’s family. I knew they were all worried about me, and I couldn’t blame them. When we arrived at Carrillo’s house, he offered to help, and I decided to take him up on it, given that I had once helped save his business.
  • Luiz, his right-hand man, drove me to a ranch far from the city, about a forty-minute ride. I’d asked him to bring some tools to help me release the anger boiling inside.
  • In no time, we were in a warehouse, where I started unpacking various knives from their protective case.
  • “Luiz, please hang her up. If she touches anything right now, I’m certain I’ll kill her,” I said, my back turned to him.
  • Luiz left me as I prepared the tools I would use. Then, I heard her groaning until a loud crack made me turn around.
  • “Her arm twisted back wasn’t much help, but what’s a dislocated bone compared to the show she’s about to put on now?” Luiz smirked, pulling a cigarette pack from his shirt pocket. “I’ve got a thing for strong women.”
  • I smiled as he winked at me.
  • “Even though I’d like to kill my husband right now, I won’t stoop to his level. First, I’ll demand a divorce.” I exhaled heavily, and Luiz began laughing.
  • “Anything you need, I’m here,” he said.
  • I smiled at him and nodded. Luiz had an interesting sense of humor. I’d also noticed Hector flirting with me, even in front of Bruno. Luiz had been doing the same since the moment I stepped off the plane.
  • Holding a prominent position in *First*, I had never made the same mistakes my husband did. I had been loyal and faithful all along, even though many men in our organization had flirted with me.
  • I sighed, looking at the small dagger, and decided to start with it. Approaching the woman, whose name I didn’t even know, I noticed how young she was. She couldn’t be more than twenty-five.
  • “You know, girl, I’m sure you spiked my husband’s drink. By the end of the day, I’ll find out what you used,” I said, sliding the blade to cut away her clothes, leaving her in just her panties. A whistle from behind caught my attention.
  • "Carolina, let me use her before you kill her," Luiz said. I started laughing and shook my head.
  • Despite all the anger I was feeling, I would never condone rape. After all, I had always defended women against such acts.
  • "You know, girl, I’ll enjoy peeling every inch of your skin," I said, staring at the woman in front of me. She pressed her lips tighter together, refusing to speak. "I think she’ll start talking soon, Luiz!"
  • I began making small cuts on her body, watching her wince in pain. But even then, she wouldn’t look at me with fear. Something about her demeanor said she was here to destroy and die.
  • I spent most of the day cutting into her skin. Her screams echoed as she thrashed about, but she didn’t utter a single word or reveal who was responsible for what had happened.
  • When my patience ran out, I let Luiz have some fun with her.
  • He broke a few of her toes, and that made her curse, but I knew she wouldn’t last much longer. She had already lost a lot of blood, and her fainting spells were getting longer each time.
  • "I think she’s been well-trained, Suíça. Maybe she’s part of a House..." Luiz said as we looked at the now-deformed woman.
  • The first thing I did was cut her hair. Then I made several cuts across her face and used a pair of pliers to remove both of her nipples. At that moment, she thrashed violently before fainting for the first time.
  • "I’ve thought about that too. But which House? The only one that scares me right now because we don’t have any ties or agreements with them is Mexico," I replied. Luiz pursed his lips and looked at her again.
  • "I don’t think she’s Mexican. She seems more like an American," he said.
  • I stared at her, and a realization hit me.
  • "Liam. He’s Canadian. Maybe it was him..." I said, piecing things together in my mind.
  • I heard her coughing and looked back at her. It was time to end this situation. I approached her battered body and smiled at her.
  • "It was Liam who sent you, wasn’t it?" I asked. Her eyes widened in shock, and I took that as confirmation.
  • I pulled out my pistol and shot her square in the forehead. As much as I was furious, I didn’t like seeing people in prolonged agony. I watched her die and left her hanging there.
  • Luiz said he’d send someone to the farm later to clean up the mess.
  • We got back in the car, and I put the Bruno situation aside for now. I needed to find out who was planning something against my family.
