Chapter 16
- Zara’s POV
- I jolted awake in a thick sweat, the sheets twisted around my legs like vines trying to trap me. My heart pounded like a war drum in my chest. My temples throbbed. It felt like I’d been dreaming something horrible, but I couldn’t remember what. Just this suffocating sense of being watched.
- I groaned and shoved the covers off. My throat was parched, sticky with sleep and something sour. Ugh, I hadn’t even bathed. I remembered collapsing the moment I touched the bed after eating. My arms ached, and my body was sore in places I didn’t even know could hurt.
