Chapter 8 Going Farming

  • He woke up the next morning, once again on his comfortable bed.
  • “I don't think I'll be getting used to this anytime soon,” he muttered with a smile.
  • ‘I on the other hand think that I'll be getting used to your weakness very soon.’
  • His mouth twitched as this was not the first thing he wanted to hear on a beautiful morning.
  • “Come to think of it, you barely said anything yesterday.”
  • ‘Come on now. Don't tell me you're getting attached to my voice?’
  • “O…of course not,” he stammered with his face turning a little red. Although he wasn't used to the sensation of someone in his mind, her voice was the best thing he has ever heard which was why he never truly complains. But how could he tell her that?
  • “It was just so peaceful yesterday. I hope that happens often.”
  • 'Is that so? Then your prayers are answered .’
  • “Huh?”
  • ‘The telekinetic bond between us requires a lot of mana to be maintained and since you're too weak I'm the one providing all that mana. Unfortunately, I can't keep wasting it on your pathetic self so there are sometimes I won't talk to you.’
  • “So that's how it is?” he said in slight disappointment which she didn't let slip by.
  • ‘Oh my, feeling dejected already? Do well to get stronger quickly and who knows, I might sing you a lullaby before bed.’
  • She was obviously teasing him.
  • “Forget about it,” he said dismissively but was kind of looking forward to it.
  • After a quick breakfast in his room, he began his daily quests which rather than over six hours took him 4 hours, 30 minutes to complete.
  • He ended up totally exhausted after finishing it as usual, lying on the ground while staring at similar notifications from yesterday.
  • [Daily task completed: +10 EXP]
  • [Host has leveled up!]
  • [+5 stat points to distribute]
  • But after opening his status to distribute his newly earned points the smile on his face disappeared now being replaced with a frown.
  • [Name: Art Von Silver
  • Race: Human
  • Level: 4
  • EXP: 20/50
  • HP: 10/10
  • MP: ???
  • STR: 3
  • AGI: 4
  • STA: 7
  • VIT: 2
  • INT: 0
  • Attribute: none
  • Free stats: 6]
  • He figured that he got 5 stat points from every level up which wasn't bad.
  • The reason he had a frown on his face was because of the EXP needed to get to the next level. If level 5 required 30 more EXP which could be gained by three more days of the daily quest, how was he going to get to level 10 with the time he had?
  • The fact that his vitality stat decreased proved how serious this was. If he kept depending on the daily quests he won't even get to level six before losing his life………….again.
  • This meant that he had to get EXP in another way and the only other option was by killing, which included both humans and beasts.
  • Killing wasn't a problem at all as he had claimed several lives before losing his but he was too weak to kill anyone here as he had a few in mind.
  • So he needed to go somewhere with weak beasts where he would farm EXP and although he knew a place with what he needed, he couldn't risk going alone. Which meant that Rachael would be escorting him.
  • He knew very well about her magic capabilities. After all, they won't have somebody weak protecting him.
  • He was sure that she could hold her ground and even defeat most of the young Silvers here.
  • Even if she could, she dared not, as at the end of the day she was just a personal maid.
  • She was always close to him so he didn't even have to go looking for her.
  • With only a wave she came running.
  • “Is something wrong?” she asked after reaching him and he was quite jealous that she wasn't out of breath at all.
  • Seeing him now she figured that she must have been imagining things as he looked much healthier this morning which was really surprising but it didn't change the fact that he still looked slightly better than normal.
  • “I'll like to go farming,” he voiced out.
  • “Farming?” she said puzzled.
  • “Oh!” he imaginarily hit himself on the head. "I want to hunt for beasts.
  • “That’s…….Art, that's too dangerous for you!!” she strongly opposed.
  • “I know. Which is why you would be coming along.”
  • “But still………..”
  • "I’d be going with or without you, so make your decision.” His expression showed how serious he was, making her wonder when he became so domineering.
  • Although it was confusing, she didn't hate this part of him.
  • “Fine, but I'll be picking the locations,” she stated.
  • “I don't have a problem with that,” he nodded in satisfaction.
  • “When do we leave?”
  • “As soon as possible. Get whatever we would be needing.”
  • She bowed slightly before walking towards the mansion, leaving him alone.
  • His reason for choosing to do this now was that he believed that he would keep getting weaker with time.
  • Now that he decided to go into combat, he added three more start points into agility bringing it to 7.
  • He didn't want to put any into vitality as it would end up wasted if it gets eaten up, and as for why he focused more start into agility, it was more suited for the beasts in the place which he was sure she would choose and just in case any problem arises he left two free stat points.
  • After gaining some energy, he stood up, walked towards the mansion, and into his room, to see Racheal who has been waiting for him.
  • Rather than her maid outfit, she was dressed in clothes much more suitable for combat.
  • A long-sleeved shirt tucked into her trousers with a belt that served as a weapon holder, but there was no weapon on it, which meant that she was going to use her attribute instead.
  • This was one of the clothes provided to them for serious training, sparring, and of course beast hunting.
  • The material used to make this was lustrous like metal but it was very flexible, thinner, and more durable than most metals in his former world. The joints of the clothes were made with another material to allow unrestricted movement.
  • Most mages use this and there are different grades of this material, with the one she currently wore being one of the weakest.
  • Hers was blue and white in colour, matching and complementing her features perfectly.
  • Finding someone as beautiful as her in his former world would be like looking for a unicorn and just anyone would fall for her at a glance.
  • But in this world even though she was considered very beautiful, she was in no way a rare beauty as from the memories he received he had met people even more beautiful.
  • Anyone who came from his former world into this one would end up falling in love, here, there….., hell! Everywhere. But this wasn’t the case for him.
  • After being betrayed in such a way, having feelings again would be near impossible and would take more than just beauty as he knew how ugly humans could get when they reveal their true selves.
  • Still, this explanation didn’t satisfy him because even though he was hurt, he was still human, and some indecent thoughts or at least a fleeting desire or sexual interest should surface occasionally, but this doesn’t happen.
  • It was either something was affecting him without his knowledge or he was more heartbroken than he believes.
  • Leaving those thoughts for later, he took a quick bath and dressed up in similar clothes as her which she had prepared for him but he's was brown.
  • Instead of being fitted, the clothes hung loose on his body causing him to let out a disappointed sigh.
  • He and Racheal walked out of the mansion to a vehicle that had the design of a carriage but rather than being pulled by two horses, it ran on mana instead.
  • They entered the vehicle and some people who saw this wondered where they were heading to.
  • It wasn’t as though they had freedom to go anywhere as they were under 24/7 surveillance. They were only allowed around a particular area and no one was to go further.
  • Anyone who tried to leave was caught by people who seem to appear out of nowhere before facing consequences.
  • Shortly after, the vehicle started moving as they headed towards their destination. Unknown to them what awaited.
