Chapter 7 Daily Quest Completed

  • Hours later,
  • ~Pant~
  • ~Pant~
  • ~Pant~
  • Art was covered in sweat while panting profusely. He lay flat on the floor of his room.
  • With the state of his body, anyone who sees him would conclude that he was going to die at any second. Damn! He even looked like a ghost.
  • Still, he had an exhausted smile as he stared at the screen in front of him.
  • [Exercise:
  • 100 press-ups: ✓
  • 100 push-ups: ✓
  • 100 sit-ups: ✓
  • 10 km run: incomplete
  • Feeding:
  • 5 Litres of water:✓
  • 5 kg of food:✓]
  • Now, he only had to do the 10 km run.
  • It had taken him over six hours to do all this, and honestly, he didn't think that he was going to make it, but here he was.
  • He drank more water and rested for some minutes before heading out to the large training field.
  • He didn't need any help getting to the destination he needed.
  • Even though he just arrived a day ago, he knew this mansion like the back of his hand.
  • When he arrived at the large field he could see about 3 people who were doing different sorts of training.
  • The way they trained wasn't like his former world as they needed a lot of space to do this.
  • One of them was practicing with a spear and with the way she moved graciously, along with the evening sun rays, was a very beautiful sight.
  • “I better get to…………” he paused as some memories flooded in causing him to take several steps backwards with widened eyes.
  • “Not this!” he cursed in annoyance.
  • It turns out that the former body owner had a big crush on the girl he was looking at but didn't have the courage to approach her due to his low self-esteem.
  • She didn't come for breakfast this morning which was why this was happening now. Not just her, a total of four didn't show up.
  • She wasn't like those who mocked him to his face but she looked down on him nevertheless.
  • Noticing his presence, she looked towards him a little confused.
  • “Are you okay?”
  • “Yes,” Art waved dismissively, walking away.
  • "Hmmm?” She looked at him in confusion.
  • “These memories are a burden in several ways.” He didn't like what he was feeling at all and knew it would take some time to kill.
  • These memories were affecting his emotions towards some people.
  • First Racheal, then those three boys, although he didn't dislike that one, and now this girl whose name is Cait.
  • After creating enough distance, he focused on the task at hand.
  • He didn't need to run across the field completely before finishing the quest which showed how big it was.
  • After taking a deep breath, he began running and some people who watched him from a distance busted into laughter.
  • Why won't they? The sight was just too funny.
  • He looked like a hanged cloth flapping with the wind, threatening to be blown away. The worst part being that he wasn't even moving fast.
  • Art tried his best to push through the wind resistance against him. This level of resistance won't even pose a problem to people from his former world, and here he was, struggling.
  • From his POV, he looked determined and cool trying his best to push through despite difficulties but that was not the case for others.
  • Even with him putting his best effort, his speed kept decreasing and after 2 km he couldn't take it anymore and wanted to take a break. That was until he began hearing footsteps from behind which were approaching very quickly.
  • Looking back, he saw the blue-eyed and silver-haired girl who didn't give any attention to anyone this morning at the dining table.
  • Her name was Iris and she was the cold type who avoided people. Even the look on her eyes said it all.
  • She was also considered the strongest among all of them, so even with her beauty, no one tried to approach her for fear of not getting on her bad side.
  • Well, that was except for one person who they haven't heard from in the past two months after a….umm…..certain incident.
  • Even the former him was no different.
  • It pained him to see her who had just started jogging about two minutes ago overtake him. This motivated him to push harder.
  • He continued running behind her, watching the distance between them increase with every second.
  • This went on for some time and now he could barely see her. But that was the least of his worries as his body had long exceeded its limits.
  • He wanted to go on but his body completely froze up as he fell limply to the ground.
  • He had put his weak body in a tough spot and was now beginning to lose consciousness but he forced himself to stay awake because of the words written on the screen.
  • [Daily quest completed: +10 EXP]
  • [Host has leveled up!]
  • [Host has leveled up!]
  • [Host has leveled up!]
  • [+15 stat points to distribute]
  • He was surprised that he had crossed 10 km.
  • He couldn't explain the kind of joy he felt from leveling up.
  • With a smile on his face, he proceeded to check his stats.
  • [Name: Art Von Silver
  • Race: Human
  • Level: 3
  • EXP: 10/20
  • HP: 10/10
  • MP: ???
  • STR: 1
  • AGI: 1
  • STA: 1
  • VIT: 1
  • INT: 0
  • Attribute: none
  • Free stats: 15]
  • The smile on his face grew wider as he just got over three times his current stats.
  • Racheal who just arrived in a hurry after seeing him fall stared at him in confusion as she wasn't expecting him to have such an expression.
  • It was as though he had just found something to turn the tides of a battle to his favour. Unknown to her that she hit the bull’s eye.
  • “Do you need help?” she walked closer to him.
  • “Thanks, but no. I'll join you shortly.”
  • With this said she nodded before walking away, believing that he was pushing himself too hard, but she never expected him to complete a 10 km run, she could hardly believe it.
  • She wondered if maybe………, just maybe, he might be actually getting better this time.
  • Art focused back on the screen. He has tested it out on multiple occasions before concluding that he was the only one who could see the golden screen in front of him.
  • He wondered if the screen and his eye colour being the same was just a coincidence.
  • That aside, he started distributing the free stat points. He already knew the places he wanted them to go to and when he was done, a feeling washed through his body which was pleasing as he felt more alive.
  • Now, his status looked like this.
  • [Name: Art Von Silver
  • Race: Human
  • Level: 3
  • EXP: 10/20
  • HP: 10/10
  • MP: ???
  • STR: 2
  • AGI: 3
  • STA: 6
  • VIT: 3
  • INT: 0
  • Attribute: none
  • Free stats: 1]
  • He put more stats into vitality to help his poor body condition and stamina which would help out with his daily quests since he planned on using it to get stronger for now, while leaving one free stat point.
  • He would’ve put more into vitality but it would be suspicious if he just began to look healthier out of the blue.
  • He didn’t notice that even though he wasn’t looking healthy, as an average base mage have 10 points in all their stats, he looked much better than before.
  • The exhaustion he felt some seconds ago was now totally gone as he stood up
  • Deciding to check his new body out, he began running back to his starting point, which was another 10 km.
  • Mid-way, he began hearing footsteps once more and tilting his head sideways, he saw Iris with her usual poker face drawing closer before overtaking him again.
  • If he didn’t know her character from the memories he’d received, he would have believed that she was doing it on purpose.
  • After some minutes, he finally got to his destination falling to the ground completely exhausted.
  • He could tell that he wasn’t as drained as before.
  • After staring at the sky for a long time, with many thoughts about his past life and former family wondering how they took his death and what was going on now, he got strong enough to stand up and walk into the mansion headed straight for his room.
  • He was looking forward to dinner.
  • The people who were laughing at him earlier kept staring in surprise with a similar thought going through their heads.
  • ‘Did he just complete a 20 km run?’
