Chapter 21 Unspoken Emotions

• "You’re already looking out for me, Lucas," I said to Lucas.
• After that conversation, Lucas and I just sat there in silence, like our souls had wandered off to some other realm. Time slipped away like a calm river current. The rain kept pouring down, creating a beautiful melody of droplets that played on the ground until the early afternoon. I felt a weight in my chest, worried that we might be stuck here forever. I was positioned behind Lucas, my lips shut tight, my thoughts a complete enigma.
