• “Kane,” Ariel said as she saw the intruder inside her room. Her reaction was too calm for someone who wasn’t expecting him.
• She had thought she was going to scream and shout, that her heart was going to pound until it burst out of its ribcage when she saw him, but none of that happened. It was, however, the opposite.
