Chapter 17 Turning Arnie Down
- As Huxley ascended to the sixteenth floor, he halted abruptly, his steps faltering.
- When Arnie spotted this, displeasure flickered across his eyes. "Huxley Sioux," Arnie's voice rang out, "I just saved you from a tight spot. Now, I'm extending an opportunity for you to pay it forward. Help me assist my boss's father with his illness." Arnie's eyes flashed with impatience, a silent demand hanging in the air. "If you manage to work some sort of miracle and cure the old man, you'll be rewarded handsomely."
- Huxley's countenance remained impassive, a mask concealing his thoughts. Seeking aid for an ailment, yet flaunting such arrogance— who does Arnie believe himself to be? Moreover, did Arnie truly rescue me earlier? Huxley couldn't care less about Frankie's thirst for vengeance.
