Chapter 26 Keep Watching

• "I got the first report from that girl today," Marks said with a proud smile as he followed the maid into the dining room. He was about to remind Dalia that he had told her there was nothing to worry about when suddenly he noticed that she was staring at him which fury in her fiery eyes. Instantly, the smile he was sporting vanished from his face and he kept his mouth shut, standing as meek as a mouse.
• "You can go. Don't come until you are called for," Dalia said to the maid without looking at her. Her eyes were still focused on Marks' face and the anger in them forced his own eyes to stare down at his feet.
• As the maid hurried away, his heart was pounding hard and fast. He was already preparing himself for a tongue-lash, but he knew that no amount of preparation would be enough to help him withstand what would soon be launched on him.
