Chapter 7 Game

  • I knew I couldn't scare her off by going straight to the point. Ellen wasn't like the others and her sweetness didn't match my wild style. He should be careful and think about how to proceed, since the first step had already been taken.
  • I wasn't the nice guy she thought, it was true that I hid my evil side from her, not only to not scare her, but also because that unknown person disappeared when we were together.
  • Being close to her was wonderful, watching her and watching her every gesture and action, but it was also torture because she couldn't do what she really wanted.
  • For now, I would let her get on with her routine and her choices. I could do what I wanted, break this lie of brotherly love and take what I wanted, but that would be a big mistake. Ellen must want to be with me, give herself to me, and I didn't want to force anything on her, that would make me a monster.
  • Being this close, I could make her stronger and more determined, the person who would be mine alone. I couldn't deny it, I was excited for it.
  • The University of California was a well-known and respected institution, but even it was made up of idiots who were possibly waiting for an opportunity to touch my Beauty.
  • I myself was once an asshole who hooked up with a woman every night, who enjoyed adolescence even though I didn't like frat parties.
  • Dominic said that I should build an image from an early age, so that no one would suspect my past. He was right, because every time I managed to put IMPÉRIO in the spotlight, my life was more exposed in the media. Everyone wants to know how I managed it at such a young age. They comb through every part of my life, and thanks to my partners, I have the power to show only the good parts and leave all the dirty shit in the dark.
  • My desire and obsession for every part of Ellen could even be an illness, however, since my parents died and I had to assume these responsibilities, control over everything has become a necessity.
  • Since she entered university, my preoccupation and desire for control has grown. I had to know what I was doing, where and with whom, because I knew her romantic side and some idiot could get close to what was mine and steal it from me. This did not happen, thanks to the shyness and isolation that she herself created.
  • It had been a while since I got in touch with the person who gave me information about Ellen. From the beginning I knew it would be difficult for her and I couldn't risk it, letting an unknown person get close to my Beauty.
  • Of course, her calm personality helped me a lot, but without my help, things could be different. I left the club thing for later and this was taking too long. Eva shouldn't have taken her to such a dangerous place on a whim.
  • When the car pulled up in front of her apartment, I asked my driver to pick her up as soon as the woman left. It didn't take long, as I already knew her routine.
  • Through the glass, I saw her stop abruptly, looking startled. She already knew who she was and what I came here for, and there was no point in running away.
  • When Eva came in and sat down on the bench opposite me, she was pale and clearly frightened. The redhead owed me a big debt and should work hard at her job, because that's how she repaid what I already gave her.
  • ONE YEAR AGO
  • I knew that as soon as dawn broke I would end the day with a headache that would drive me crazy.
  • Taking care of so many things was too much for me, but I knew there was no one else to replace me, and even with the help of my right hand, taking care of two side businesses was not easy.
  • Not to mention that I still worried about Ellen, who was getting ready to go to college, where young people lost their minds and made mistakes where they didn't know the consequences in the future.
  • I knew she was different from the others, however, that didn't mean that those around her weren't, and that could influence her. That's why I decided to take care of her, even from afar, and the redhead who was serving me would help me with that.
  • Eva Thompson was an eighteen-year-old girl who dreams of going to college and studying literature, just like Ellen. They were very different, but they would definitely be friends.
  • "Anything else sir?" she asked holding up a small pad of paper.
  • "Yes, I want you to sit down." I said leaning back in the chair.
  • She was beautiful and her look held an innocence that was far from being compared to Ellen's, but she reminded me a little. Her red hair gleamed in the light, the freckles on her face were a charm. Even dressed in ratty jeans and a plaid button-up shirt, I could see how pretty she was. Her curves were a temptation and if I wasn't completely obsessed with Ellen, it was possible that I would be attracted to her.
  • The girl was surprised by my request, her open mouth told me that she was thinking about an answer, but I didn't want to insist too much.
  • I knew all about this girl, Jacob did his job very well and I knew what girls like her wanted and were doing in Los Angeles. People imagined that by coming to such a prestigious city and with so many opportunities, they would find paradise.
  • It was quite true that here there were great chances for pretty girls like this one to become a model or actress, but it wasn't always the way they imagined, because just as there were good opportunities, there were also bad ones, which would lead this girl to succeed. a job being a call girl or other type of actress.
  • Eva hated working in that place, it wasn't her style and even though she loved literature, to achieve her goal, she could opt for another profession where she would speed up this process, since with the money she earned waiting tables, it would take a long time.
  • "What?!" She said looking embarrassed. She couldn't hide it, her pale skin gave it away. "I'm on time..."
  • "Have a seat Eva, your boss won't mind a short chat." I said looking at the big-bellied bearded man who was looking at us from afar. He had owed me for some time now and he knew that when I showed up it was because he was supposed to oblige. "We have a lot to talk."
  • "I don't know what we have to talk about." She spoke after she pushed back her chair and sat down. "I'm a simple person who works in a cafeteria, what could you want from me?"
  • This phrase was well known to me. Doing what I do requires allies, for better or for worse. Using the manpower of people like Eva was what made my business flow.
  • My father always said: if he doesn't have their respect, have their fear. I took it into my life and as much as I hated doing this dirty business, it kept me alive.
  • "I need a simple girl in need of money for a job." I spoke after analyzing the woman from head to toe again. I knew that when I finished this conversation I would have what I came for, so I was confident. "I know you want to go to college. You're smart, you're hardworking and you have a face that expresses confidence, I need that."
  • "Expresses confidence... who do you think you are to tell me these things?!" she questioned irritably, getting up from her chair. "I know what men like you want with women like me, and I'm out."
  • Yes, it was weird meeting a person and hearing them say those things, but luckily my sexual interest in this girl was nil.
  • "Sit down or I will use more effective methods to get you to listen to me, girl." I said impatiently. I should have been in my office, drinking a whiskey and looking through paperwork, but instead I was having a conversation with a stranger. I hated talking to strangers, but the ones I know can't always give me what I need. "Do you think I would come here just to play with a girl like you?" Thinking about it was like a bad joke. I could have any woman I wanted, I wouldn't have to come to a cheap diner, chasing an ordinary girl who, despite being pretty, wasn't worth the trouble. "Believe me, you're beautiful and you have nice curves, but I know what I want and that's why I'm here. You'll just be a tool for me to get the woman who's mine. I can give you what you want, faster and more. easy, and you only have to tell me the things I want to know."
  • "I honestly don't understand where you're going." She said frowning.
  • "You will get into the University of California, everything will be paid for by me, you will only need to make friends with one person." She said leaning back and looking at her more closely. "You'll tell me everything she says to you, everything she does, even how many breaths she takes. I'll give you an apartment, car and much more, you won't have to work in this hole, just be loyal and do your job."
  • The girl looked at me in astonishment, which made me smile. I'm not one to joke around when it comes to Ellen. I would do anything to keep you under my thumb.
  • "Are you a psychopath?" She questioned me still scared. "Because I?"
  • "What I do for my Beauty may even seem crazy, but I do it for love, as for my choice, let's say I choose my partners according to their need or desperation." Respond sincerely. I hated having to worry about other people's feelings, I only cared about one person. "You hate this place, your boss and your mediocre life. You'll take this deal because you can't stand living that way."
  • "Who are you?" She asked me even more scared.
  • "Anthony Johnson, I believe you've heard of me, haven't you, missy?" I asked knowing the answer. "So you know I'm not kidding, and if anything happens to my Ellen it will be your fault and you won't live to tell the tale."
  • CURRENT DAYS
  • "Good morning, Eve." I spoke with a half smile, even though inside there was no happiness or humor. "We haven't seen each other for a while."
  • "What do you want, Anthony?" She asked cautiously, but I could feel the sharpness.
  • I've seen this happen several times. Everyone thinks they can challenge me, think I won't collect the debt, or feel too safe for me not to be a threat.
  • "You know why I'm here." I spoke without moving from my seat or taking my eyes off her. That girl became more of a problem than a solution. "You know what you did, or rather, didn't do."
  • "I just wish she would get away for a bit, Ellen is always..."
  • "Your duty to her isn't to think about what will be good for her or not, your job is to inform me about her. Keep her out of trouble and most importantly, keep idiots away from her." I spoke clenching my fists, feeling the anger emanate from my body. It seemed that lately women were banding together to tease me, forcing me to do something I never wanted to do: hurt one of them. I was not a saint. I didn't mind very easily and wanted things the way I had planned. If I had to rip someone's head off to get what I wanted, it would be done. "Remember your debt?"
  • "Anthony, I care about Ellen, she's different, I feel bad spying on her or pushing nice guys away. She deserves to be happy," She said wanting to convince me of her innocence.
  • I took a deep breath and smiled at what he just said. It was a real joke, that's how I was treating this conversation. My self-control was reserved for really important moments. My short temper was at zero and I, now more than anything, needed things to work out.
  • I approached her abruptly, grabbing her ponytail and bringing her closer to me. It was true that I hated using my strength against women, but I couldn't control myself when I was angry, and I think this girl needs a little extra encouragement.
  • She was so fragile and weak that she could break her all over, but that would be a very bad idea. Ellen would find out and hate me for life, even if that bitch is a manipulative liar.
  • "Listen to me carefully, Eva." I spoke through gritted teeth, looking into her pale eyes, which were filled with water and panic. "I don't care if you like her or not, if you're a good friend, if you want her to have fun, your job is another. If you don't tell me what I want to know, I'll have your tongue and eyes plucked out, you understand me." ?"
  • I could have sworn she was close to bursting into tears. This was something that took my patience away. In the business world, I liked being trusted by bureaucratic idiots, but in the criminal world, fear was a man like me's best friend.
  • "Yes sir." She spoke in a shaky voice.
  • "If you take her into holes like that again, I promise you your stupid little boyfriend will be found in a ditch with his limbs gone."
  • "Okay, I understand." She said reaffirming.
  • "Go on, by this time she must already be at the university." I said as I let go of her hair. " have a good day."
  • As soon as she got out of the car, I ordered us to my office. Today was going to be another tiring day and I wanted it to be over so I could go home.
