• The city skyline stretched out before them as Serria and Mark crouched atop a rooftop, hidden in the shadows. Below, the flashing red-and-blue lights of the FBI created a chaotic dance against the darkened alley. The Syndicate’s men had scattered, but not before exchanging gunfire with law enforcement.
• Serria’s hands trembled as she clutched Varan’s laptop, adrenaline still coursing through her veins. She had done it—she had forced the Syndicate into the open. But she also knew this wasn’t over.
