  • Everywhere and things had been too quiet. For someone like me, someone who thrives on chaos, silence was never a good thing. But the silence was also unnerving, and I could feel the pressure building, my instincts telling me something was wrong. Sienna’s name was on the news after my release, creeping into every conversation, every corner of my mind. And it bothered me. It bothered me more than I wanted to admit.
  • I sat at my desk in my office, a glass of bourbon in hand, swirling the amber liquid. The dark room was lit only by the dim glow of the desk lamp, the rest of the city’s lights barely visible through the closed curtains. The weight of the decisions I’d made, and the ones I still had to make, pressed heavily on my chest.
