Chapter 8 Fearless In The Presence Of The Devil

  • “Can I pass?” Kon asked in a calm voice.
  • “You—”
  • “It's okay. I will take it from here.” The devil who has got tired of watching his men make a fool of themselves decided to take matters into his hands.
  • He knew if he does nothing, they will end up arguing with the boy until morning.
  • “Okay, boss.” The men bowed to the devil before they left, with their hearts feeling heavy for the poor boy who doesn't know what he has got himself into.
  • “Do you—” Kon turned, intent on giving the so-called devil peace of his mind. However, the words in his throat froze when he saw the handsome man standing a distance from him.
  • To call the devil Handsome will be an understatement of the century.
  • The devil was more than handsome, with his chiselled jaw, and too-bright green eyes that seemed as if it was trying to suck everyone in.
  • His black hair glistened in the dark, and it seemed to accentuate his features.
  • However, that wasn't what caught Kon's attention.
  • It was the scar on the side of his face. The scar ran from the tip of his hair, down the left side of his face.
  • However, instead of making the devil ugly, it accentuated his beauty. The scar made him more handsome than ever.
  • “Are you satisfied with Just looking at me, or do you want to take a picture?” The devil smirked as he watched the human.
  • This wasn't the first time something like this has happened to him.
  • It frequently happens.
  • Everyone who sees the devil always ends up gawking at him, like fools.
  • “Who do you think you are?” Kon scoffed at him.
  • To say the devil was shocked, was just like skidding over his emotions.
  • His eyes widened at not only the boy's words, but the expression on his face.
  • This was the first time someone has spoken to him in that manner, with that expression on their face.
  • “You amuse me, boy.” The devil smirked as he gave the pretty boy a once over. “What do you say? We go to my car, and talk things out?”
  • He said confidently, thinking Kon will leap at such an offer.
  • “What do you want from me, Mister? If you have nothing important to say, I have somewhere to be.” Kon glanced around at the men in suits who were scattered as if waiting for him to bolt, to catch him.
  • “Do you know who you are talking to?” The Devil tilted his head to the side as he watched the boy.
  • "And you think I care about that?” Kon narrowed his eyes at the so-called devil. “Whatever you are, and whoever you might be, I don't care.”
  • The devil was taken aback by his words.
  • He knew the boy was fearless; however, he was surprised by the way the boy spoke to him.
  • “You—”
  • “I'm leaving,” Kon said before he started for the alley he initially wanted to go through, but the devil stopped him, by holding his hand.
  • “I'm not through with—”
  • He didn't get to complete his words before Kon slapped him.
  • The devil's men gasped in fear. Scorpion stood by the side and watched them as he tried to think of the right place to bury the boy's carcass.
  • “Don't you ever touch me!” Kon removed his hand from a stunned Devil's and left. He half expected the men to rush at him, but none of them did so.
  • Not because they didn't try. They were stopped by the devil.
  • “It's okay.” He touched his cheeks as he watched the boy leave.
  • If he hasn't already determined to make the boy his, the boy's actions now, made him eager to tie the boy to his bed and show him what discipline means.
  • “Sir, we—”
  • “Follow the boy.” The devil said as he entered his car.
  • “Sir, do you need me to kid—” The scorpion started to say, but the devil cut him off.
  • “Follow him.” The devil said in a tight voice.
  • “Okay, sir.”
  • Unbeknownst to Kon who was still fuming in anger at what just transpired between him and the devil, the devil was stalking him.
  • “If only I had kicked in his manhood, I would have been happy.” Kon thought out loud.
  • He has long left the alley behind and was now walking through the deserted street where his house was located in.
  • The street itself was known as the lair of thugs; however, Kon wasn't Afraid of anything as he walked through the streets.
  • Three men came out from the shadows and blocked his path.
  • “What a pretty young lad.” One of the men sneered.
  • “Gosh, when was the last time you brushed your mouth?” Kon covered his nose to wade off the pungent odour coming from the man's mouth.
  • “It's you, bitch!” The man sneered in anger.
  • The two men beside him tried not to cover their noses with their palms at the pungent odour coming from their leader's mouth.
  • It will be seen as an act of disrespect should they do something of that sort.
  • Meanwhile, the devil had scorpion pack the car a distance from where Kon and the men were.
  • “What should we do, sir?” Scorpion asked as he got ready to do whatever the devil requested.
  • “Don't do anything now. Let's just watch and wait for them to beat him up.” The devil smirked, “I will swoop in and save the day. Then, he will—”
  • The Devil realized what he was saying out loud a bit too late.
  • “Okay, sir.” Scorpion said as he hid the surprise in his voice.
  • The scorpion just doesn't understand what was going on with the Devil. This isn't how his master was.
  • He has never seen the devil act the way he did with the boy.
  • No one has ever touched the devil and lived to tell the tale.
  • But here they are, waiting for the boy to be beaten to a pulp, so the devil can swoop in and save the day.
