Chapter 36 Power

• Amelia felt the power inside her begin to rise. All the stress, all the turmoil she had been experiencing lately suddenly gave her a new surge. She didn’t know exactly what was happening, but her whole body, from her fingertips to the top of her head, was filled with invisible energy. It was as if the very earth beneath her feet was vibrating. A mighty force was boiling within her, and she couldn’t control it.
• The guards surrounding her seemed completely unprepared for this. One of them stepped forward, trying to grab her. But without hesitation, Amelia clenched her fist and instantly felt energy flow through her arm. Her palm flared with a dull silver light, and in the next moment, the guard collapsed to the ground, unable to react. He was unconscious.
• She stood there, stunned by her own power. Her breathing quickened, her heart pounded in her chest, but she couldn’t stop the invisible force that had taken hold of her. She had just knocked out a professional guard as if it meant nothing. But it wasn’t “nothing.” It was everything. It was awakening.
