• “Is that a threat, Kael?” Marissa sneered, her lips curling into a smirk that made Zafira’s blood boil. “How bold of you — a wolf king walking into a vampire’s home and throwing accusations around. You must be so confident.”
• Kael didn’t even flinch. His golden eyes locked on Marissa, radiating fury. “It’s not a threat,” he said, his voice dangerously low. “It’s a promise.”
• Marissa laughed — a high, mocking sound that echoed through the marble halls of Dorian’s mansion. “And how exactly do you plan to keep that promise? Do you think you can just waltz in here and destroy us all?” She tilted her head, her eyes gleaming with amusement. “You’re outnumbered, wolf.”
