Chapter 35 More Attacks

• The sun was still high in the sky when the Nightveil pack survivors finally decided to leave their territory. They had no choice but to temporarily abandon the land they had called home all their lives.
• Kael led the group, his eyes fixed on the horizon, his senses on high alert. Every rustle of leaves, every distant howl set his teeth on edge. After the last vampire attack on their pack, he knew those creatures wouldn’t stop hunting them. They would do whatever it took to capture Cassia.
• Behind him, the survivors moved in uneasy silence. There weren’t many of them left — barely two dozen out of a once-thriving pack.
