"Please tell me you are okay," Arthur said, walking behind me and maintaining a respectful distance. I made a mental note to reject him soon and sever this nonexistent bond he believes we share, since I am pretending to be my sister. I would also resolve to start wearing clothes that cover my entire body, to hide any skin that might betray me when he touches me and feels no sparks or tingles.
"Yeah, I am fine," I replied, sighing reluctantly as I moved to sit on a nearby couch. Arthur followed, and I could feel his concerned eyes on me, searching for any signs of distress. My mind raced as I tried to think of a way to ask him about what had happened without revealing that I wasn’t the real Elizabeth. How could I get the information I needed without arousing suspicion?
