Chapter 305 The Meet-Up with Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang

  • Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang came to Skyrion to cozy up to the two heiresses of the Jenkins family and the Robinsons. They knew both heiresses seemed to fancy Mark, so they didn’t go after Lord Mark in the open. Their first target was Raven, the traitor. “The Nordwest states may be Golden Sun Group’s biggest turf, but Golden Sun doesn’t mess with the underworld. This whole area’s underworld is run by our two families. You’re just a mutt we picked because you were useful, that’s how you became a Boss. And you dare switch sides?” Mr. Caleb called Raven himself, voice icy. Raven had already made up his mind to send the person back, so he didn’t care what Mr. Caleb thought. He snapped, “Who the hell do you think you are, calling me your dog? I’m with Lord Mark now. If you’re pissed, go at my boss if you’ve got the guts.” “Heh. With that useless Lord Mark? Fine. Since you said it, I’ll wipe out Lord Mark first, then come for you,” Mr. Caleb said coldly. “So, we doing this now?” Mr. Yang asked after Mr. Caleb hung up. “This Lord Mark’s slippery as hell. We sent people at him several times and never took him down. No more pawns. We do it ourselves,” Mr. Caleb growled, patience gone. Mr. Yang nodded. “We worried the two heiresses from the Jenkins family and the Robinsons would hate us if we hit Lord Mark directly, so we had Raven do it. But now? Doesn’t seem necessary. We go straight and public.” “Tell him to meet at Riverside Pavilion. I want to see what kind of three heads and six arms he’s got. Don’t tell me he can’t be beaten,” Mr. Yang snapped. Lord Mark was about to head home when Raven’s message landed—Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang wanted to meet at Riverside Pavilion? With the recent mess cleaned up, Lord Mark didn’t need them, so of course he went. Better to cut off these two troubles so they don’t buzz around like flies. “I’m going with you. We say everything to their faces. Otherwise, after they talk to you, they’ll come for me,” Raven said. Truth was, he didn’t feel safe facing Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang alone, so he wanted to back up Lord Mark and borrow some nerve. At the foot of Riverside Pavilion, before they even walked in, the door guards tried a little power play. “Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang said trash like you dirties the place if you walk in. You have to kneel and climb the stairs!” The guy looked every inch the flunky, the perfect example of a bully hiding behind a bigger bully. “Mr. Brooks, let me,” Raven said quickly, then stepped up and slapped the guy across the face. “You dare block Raven’s path? Get lost!” When he saw it was Raven, the man shrank right away. He’d heard Raven’s name like thunder—never thought Raven came with Lord Mark, and looked like Lord Mark’s right-hand man? “Such a cheap stunt for a power play, and you want to be kings of the Nordwest?” Lord Mark sneered and headed upstairs. Upstairs, Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang sat in suits, legs crossed, all smug and carefree. “Lord Mark, this is our first meet. Kneel and bow,” Mr. Caleb said, expression flat, like ordering a house servant. Lord Mark smiled lightly. “You want me on my knees. Are you even worthy?” “My family’s famous across the Nordwest. We control half the underworld. Making you kneel is doing you a favor. From today on, every time you see me, you kneel.” “Lord Mark, Mr. Caleb is giving you a chance. Don’t blow it.” The two of them tag-teamed, cocky as hell. “So powerful, huh? Yet Golden Sun Group keeps you leashed like dogs,” Lord Mark said, face calm. Mr. Caleb’s face darkened. “Got a temper. I like it. Tianxing, come out. Break his legs so he can kneel properly.” “You called, I obey.” A loud, steady voice sounded, and a young man came up from downstairs, killing intent rolling off him. His forearms were thick, veins snaking like old tree roots, packed with explosive power. As he appeared, Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang smirked, like they could already see Lord Mark beaten into a dog. “You called me here for this? I thought the two families would crush with power. But no—you brought some street-brawler routine. Lame,” Lord Mark said, disappointed, barely glancing at the fighter named Tianxing. “Big mouth won’t save you. Look at you, acting tough. Folks might think you can fight. Tianxing, beat him half to death,” Mr. Caleb spat. “Relax, I’m snapping his legs.” The man roared and lunged at Lord Mark. Tianxing’s arms swung like two giant lobster claws, all momentum, both forearms reaching for Lord Mark’s head. “You might be a street tyrant. In front of me? You don’t make the cut.” Lord Mark said coldly. His sleeve twitched, and his fist was already out. One casual punch sent the “lobster” flying two or three yards. Tianxing’s face twisted in pain, shock crashing through him. Lord Mark’s this badass? He’d watched that arena match before. The kid looked weak then—how’s he suddenly this strong? Raven gaped, then smirked, cocky. “Mr. Caleb, Mr. Yang, you didn’t actually think those guys I picked for Lord Mark in the arena could beat him, did you?” Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang stiffened. Tianxing was top-tier among their fighters, a total beast, and he couldn’t take a single move from Lord Mark? “Raven, you heard what Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang said?” Lord Mark called out. Raven’s eyes flicked, then he got it. “I heard. They said they’d break your legs.” “You know what to do, right?” Raven hesitated a beat, doubts bubbling—was Lord Mark really this unfazed by the two? But he’d already chosen his side. No sitting on the fence now. He gritted his teeth. “Got it. I’ll break both their legs.” Mr. Caleb and Mr. Yang panicked. “Raven, you got a death wish? You don’t know our families’ status in the Nordwest?” “I know. But I’m not with you now. Sorry, gentlemen. If I do this, you lose your legs. If I don’t, I lose my future.” Once he committed, Raven’s wicked streak showed. He grabbed a stool and charged the two.
