Chapter 22 Meeting Daniel's Grandfather

• They moved quickly, asking questions to every local they met, hoping to find clues about the whereabouts of the old lady and the mysterious old house. However, every time they got an answer, they were disappointed. None of the locals knew anything about it.
• "We don't know of any old houses around this forest," was the answer they received every time they asked about the old house. Or they would reply, "No old lady with the characteristics you mentioned has ever lived here."
• In fact, nothing strange or mystical has ever happened there. Emily and Daniel felt increasingly trapped in a maze of increasingly complicated mysteries. Every door they knocked on only led them to a dead end, further increasing the sense of hopelessness they felt. However, despite their despair, they stick together and try not to give up.
