• I was still brooding over it all when heavy footsteps began to storm up the spiral staircases. I needed no soothsayer to know it was the royal guards. They were obviously after me.
• My hair all shot up in panic, and with the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins, I found myself fleeing. My legs were just acting without my brain, so I didn't even know where I was going to. The hallway was a long passage that had a blockage at the end, so I was running to nowhere.
