Chapter 3

• The next day, I went to my friend, Eleanor's office to discuss the divorce.
• Eleanor has been my childhood friend, and we have kept in touch over the years.
• We talk about almost everything.
• But as soon as I arrived, I heard a piercing scream.
• I rushed in and found Eleanor surrounded by Julian's bodyguards.
• They were punching and kicking her, blood oozing from her wounds.
• Her clothes were stained red with blood, and her body was covered in bruises.
• When Eleanor saw me, she struggled even harder and yelled at me. "Run, Aurora! Run!!!"
• Julian saw me and explained reluctantly. "I bought Lana a villa, came to notarize it, but Eleanor refused to cooperate, so I had to punish her."
• I controlled my anger and tried to pull Eleanor out from the group of people.
• But Julian's bodyguards stopped me.
• "Madam, Mr. Finch said this person disrespected Miss Lana, so we can't let her go today."
• Julian also came over to persuade me. "Aurora, it's just a beating, don't worry. As soon as Lana is satisfied, I will let her go and give her some money."
• "Just a beating?!"
• I forcefully pushed Julian's hand away.
• "You know how good Eleanor and I are! Why do you have to treat her like this!"
• "Even if this firm is partly yours, how can you deliberately hurt the people here!"
• Being yelled at in front of so many people, Julian's face couldn't hold up. He impatiently said to me.
• "Enough, why are you yelling? I'll give her more money, she can start a new firm!"
• Lana walked towards me triumphantly, but in the next moment, the barely conscious Eleanor grabbed her pant leg.
• She was still spitting blood, but even injured, she instinctively wanted to protect me.
• Lana exaggeratedly took a few steps back, clutching her chest and crying. "Julian, I'm so scared."
• Julian immediately ordered the bodyguards coldly. "What are you waiting for, get her hand off Lana!"
• The bodyguard immediately took out a folding knife and forcefully cut Eleanor's hand.
• Her hand instantly split open, causing her to scream in pain, but she still refused to let go.
• I rushed over with my eyes wide open. "Let her go! You can't hurt her! Julian, if you touch Eleanor again, I will never forgive you!"
• After hearing my words, Julian hesitated.
• But Lana patted her chest. "Julian, my heart feels a little uncomfortable, maybe just scared."
• Julian immediately kicked Eleanor hard after hearing this. "This kind of person is useless, throw her out."
• The bodyguard rushed up and dragged Eleanor out instantly.
• "No!"
• I shouted, "Let her go!"
• But before I could rush over, several bodyguards had already pinned me in place, not letting me move.
• Lana smiled and looked at me. "Julian, since Aurora wants to protect her so much, let them be, but since you want to help her, you should be the one to give Eleanor the punishment she deserves."
• She pointed to one of Julian's bodyguards and said. "I heard you are best at using a knife to draw on people's bodies, so why not draw a picture on our lady."
• Julian's bodyguard heard this, grinned, and walked towards me with a knife.
• Julian stood aside, looking hesitant, but did not speak to stop him.
• "Aurora, endure it, just let Lana vent her anger, after all, Eleanor made a mistake because of you."
• I signaled Eleanor with my eyes not to struggle, about to take off my clothes, but saw her suddenly stand up and rush straight at the knife.
• The knife went straight into her body.
• The family member who had been with me for nearly ten years, in order not to embarrass me, fell in front of me like this.
• Eleanor held my hand, as if comforting me, telling me not to be sad.
• "No! Eleanor!"
• I hugged Eleanor and cried out in agony.
• This is my family!
• A family member for ten years!
• "Call an ambulance! Ambulance!!!"
• I screamed desperately, but Julian and the bodyguards remained indifferent.
• Lana looked disdainfully at the blood on Eleanor's body, instructing the bodyguards to leave crisscross wounds on my legs.
• I was in so much pain that I almost passed out, but I saw the bodyguards carrying the barely alive Eleanor and throwing her into the cold snowy ground outside.
• Eleanor's body was gradually covered by snow, disappearing completely in the wind and snow.
• "You beasts! Let her go!"
• I screamed with a broken heart, my voice hoarse.
• But they couldn't stop insulting Eleanor in front of me.
• They just stood there, saying dirty words to Eleanor, right in front of me, saying she didn't know any better.
• Lana stood provocatively in front of me, showing me the scars left by Eleanor on her body.
• "Aurora, Eleanor didn't offend me at all, actually."
• "I'm just jealous of you, why do you have everything."
• I glared at her fiercely, then suddenly stood up and bit her neck hard.
• Lana screamed in pain, my mouth was forcefully pried open by someone, and I was kicked hard in the abdomen by Julian.
• "Aurora, Lana was trying to comfort you, and you don't even appreciate it!"
• Looking at the wound on Lana's neck, I spat out the piece of flesh I had bitten off, then dialed a specific number.
• "Dad! Send someone over now! I'm going to clean the house!"
