Chapter 6

  • S.I.X
  • Faith walked into the expensive-looking bar where she met a young man who appeared to be in his late twenties or perhaps early thirties, Faith thought when he walked closer.
  • Faith thought he looked familiar, then quickly remembered that she had seen him quite a few times at the office with Sterling Hunter.
  • "You are his secretary, right? I'm Rex, owner of this bar, I'll bring you to Sterling"
  • Faith followed him, they walked until they arrived at a spot. In the dim lights, Faith's eyes found Sterling Hunter.
  • His eyes were closed, and his head relaxed against his chair. She hurried towards him to discover he was fast asleep.
  • "Do you want me to arrange a car for you to take him home? We are about to close any time from now." Rex spoke.
  • Faith didn't tear her gaze away from Sterling, she couldn't help but wonder what prompted him to drink so much.
  • "No need to, I've already called the driver, he will soon be here"
  • Faith caught Rex's quiet nod before he walked out of the room, leaving her alone with Sterling.
  • "Sir__ are you awake?" She spoke gently.
  • He didn't respond.
  • Faith sighed as she stared at the empty bottle of whiskey on the table, she returned her attention to Sterling Hunter.
  • She thought to herself that he indeed looked strikingly handsome, his cheekbones were high, his jaw was a sharp slice, the slight stubble of dark beard on his chin. He was the perfection of masculinity.
  • This was also the first time she was also seeing him dressed in anything but a business suit. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled to his arms, showcasing the well-defined muscles beneath.
  • Faith suddenly caught herself checking out her boss and snapped out of it.
  • What was wrong with her today?
  • The memories of what had happened in the office earlier today flashed through her mind.
  • What had prompted her to hug him? Why did her stomach flip at that moment when he hugged her back?
  • And when he had yelled at her, she had never felt so embarrassed in her entire life.
  • She wasn't attracted to him.
  • After all, she had a handsome and caring man who she called her boyfriend. Her boss was just good-looking that even a blind woman would notice it. Staring at him didn't mean she wanted anything to do with him, there was no need to feel guilty about it, Faith told herself.
  • "Mr. Hunter___" She called out again, this time reaching her fingers to gently tap his shoulder.
  • Faith didn't expect to be suddenly yanked forward, a yelp of surprise escaped her mouth when she suddenly fell against him so that she was sitting on his thighs.
  • At that moment, his eyes flickered open and Faith felt her heart jump to her throat. His fingers were still around her arms so she couldn't even move away immediately.
  • "You? Sorry, I'm not used to being touched unawares." He mumbled under his breath.
  • Faith expected him to let her go, but he didn't.
  • He continued to stare at her and Faith could feel her heart pounding heavily, they were too close. Faith wished the earth would open and swallow her when she suddenly felt something poking against her butt.
  • She realized what it was and her embarrassment deepened.
  • "You__I__I." She stammered and suddenly pushed her hand against his shoulders, jerking away from him, almost tripping in the process.
  • "Is something wrong, Ms. Jameson?"
  • Was he taunting her? There was a glint in his eyes, she didn't get to recognize what it was when he spoke again.
  • "What are you doing here, Ms. Jameson?"
  • If there was something Faith recognized, it was that her boss didn't look or sounded drunk.
  • Did the bartender who called her make a mistake?
  • "The bartender called me that you can't return home on your own, maybe he thought you passed out because you were asleep, I already called the driver, he'll be here to take you home."
  • Faith thought she saw annoyance flash across his gaze but she wasn't sure.
  • He muttered something under his breath, it was too low for her to hear.
  • "There's no need." He spoke and started to pour himself another glass of alcohol when Faith snatched it from his hands without thinking.
  • "I think you already had enough, drinking too much isn't good for anyone!." Faith heard the bitterness in her tone and hoped he didn't notice it as well. She cast a glance towards him only to catch him eyeing her openly.
  • "Did you forget office hours are over, Ms. Jameson? You can leave, I don't need you here, even if I was drunk and helpless, it still isn't a part of your job and you don't need to concern yourself with it."
  • As he spoke, Dan's words flashed through her mind.
  • Why was she doing this?
  • Perhaps it was because she wanted to repay him, after all, he allowed her to keep her job as well as her relationship.
  • "It wasn't as though I could refuse, I thought it was urgent or that you were in a really bad condition as the bartender said."
  • Faith replied and heard him mutter something under his breath again that sounded closely like "Damn Rex"
  • "So you were worried about me?" His eyes were sharp and intense as usual, he only wore that serious look when he was discussing business deals.
  • It made Faith nervous, she could feel the nerves in her stomach tightening.
  • "W__well um I__ Yes, I was worried." She stammered, meeting his gaze, only to look away again immediately.
  • Why couldn't she hold good contact with her boss after all these years?
  • Faith missed the amusement dancing in Sterling's eyes as he spoke again.
  • "So, you do care about me, Faith?"
  • Faith's lips parted in surprise, this was the first time he was referring to her as anything other than Ms. Jameson.
  • Why did she like the way her name sounded in his mouth?
  • "You're my boss, so of course, I was concerned and worried about you." She answered, completely missing the way the amused look in his eyes was replaced by a scowl that darkened his features.
  • At that moment, the driver arrived. Faith escorted Sterling Hunter to where the car awaited.
  • "It's already late, get inside the car, the driver will stop by to take you home as well." Sterling spoke and Faith shook her head.
  • " I will just call a cab to take me home, have a good night sir."
  • She started to walk away when Sterling suddenly barked.
  • "Like hell, you will go home alone by this time of the night! I wasn't asking if you wanted to or not Ms. Jameson, get inside, right now!"
  • Faith tightened her lips and stared at him, this was one of those moments she was annoyed by his authoritative behavior, it wasn't that late for her to return home, why was he insisting? He was making her feel like a disobedient child who wouldn't listen.
  • "And who said I'm going home? It isn't even that late, I think I can manage, there's no need to worry." Faith spoke again and watched as the frown on Sterling's face deepened.
  • "Where are you going? I can take you there."

  • Sterling clenched his jaw in barely controlled rage, his heart was pounding too fast as he watched the sight in front of him.
  • Faith had given the directions, but it turned out to be her boyfriend's place!
  • To watch the two embrace sent a thrill of hate and jealousy running through Sterling's veins.
  • The moment they kissed, Sterling had lost it, it took every fiber of self-control in him to remain in the car.
  • He wanted to punch the bastard who had dared to kiss her.
  • Those luscious lips were only for his taking, not that bastard's. Sterling wanted to rip him to shreds. He would bend Faith across the desk and she would receive the punishment of allowing another man to touch what belonged to him on her knees, she would know what it felt to have a real man put those good lips to use, his cock jumped at the thought of tainting their redness with his cum.
  • And then she would lick every bit of it with her tongue while staring at him with those beautiful doe-like eyes.
  • Sterling watched as they disappeared from view and felt his blood boil with even more rage.
  • He barely resisted the intention to storm over there and pull her into his car.
  • He couldn't wait any longer, he had to make her his. He would possess every inch of her, she would learn that in his world, there was only her in it, Sterling would also ensure that in her world, only he had a place there and no one else.
  • Rex had made a dumb plan of bringing Faith to the bar without his awareness, now as Sterling stared at the photos on his phone. He would utilize every bit of the plan Rex had started.
  • One of the photos had Faith who was straddling his thighs, their faces had been so close. From this angle, it would seem to outsiders that they were kissing.
  • Sterling thought about it one last time and made a decision. He would do anything to have her, to make her desire him as he did her.
  • Even if it meant tainting her reputation.
