• We stood on the mountain, embracing the warmth of nature. It was beautiful. It felt like I was dominating over my haters. I was free and indomitable. With Hudson and Nevaeh beside me, I felt complete, like the whole world bowed to me and not the other way around. I glanced at Hudson; our eyes met, and he took hold of my hand, making my stomach flutter.
• “It’s all right,” he leaned forward and whispered into my ear. Does he really understand me? Will everything truly be fine? I don’t think so.
