Chapter 16 The Confrontation

• Standing in front of Dominic’s door, I ring the bell once more, the sharp chime echoing through the quiet hallway. I can feel the anger boiling beneath my skin, a mixture of frustration and worry over Kaitlyn’s abduction. Dominic’s involvement is a bit surprising, and I’m determined to find out why he would use Aurora to get to me.
• The housekeeper opens the door, her face a mask of polite concern. “Good evening, Mr. Vanderbilt. Master Dominic is currently in the shower.”
