• Avery lay on the soft princess bed and looked indifferently in the direction he left in. For a moment, she couldn't figure out what he was thinking. This man was like the deep sea. One moment she was calm, the next she could be turbulent. It was as if she had never understood him.
• Avery tossed and turned, how could she still sleep? She heard the sound of water splashing in the bathroom, followed by the deliberately slow sound of footsteps. He lifted the quilt and laid down beside her.
