Chapter 4 The Conversation
- Nathaniel quickly wore a black tee and black joggers. He slipped on his black sneakers and a gold necklace. It’s time to get going.
- He left the room without closing the door.
- “Maid!!” He shouted, running down the stairs.
- “Shut the door!” He ordered a male servant, who appeared immediately he called.
- He walked out, straight to his car. He ignited the engine and zoomed off.
- He was driving in a straight line for almost an hour until his phone rang.
- "Speak,” he said sharply, maintaining focus on the dark road.
- “We’re here” The voice on the phone sounded worried.
- “I’ll be with you shortly." Nathaniel said that and hung up.
- He drove a little further, then took a turn to the left, leading him to the forest. The headlights of his car pierced deep through the forest as animals ran to safety.
- He drove ten more minutes, then took a right turn, where he was met with six other men. He got out of his car, came down, and walked straight to the men.
- “Where is she?” Nathaniel asked.
- “Over there…” Calvin, a rather short, muscular black man, replied, pointing to the left side of the forest.
- “Come out!! I don’t have all night!” Nathaniel shouted, turning his body in the direction Calvin pointed.
- “Took you long enough.” A shaky, gentle, feminine voice sounded approaching the men.
- “Where’s Victoria?” Nathaniel asked the lady who emerged from the woods.
- “She’s not here,” the lady replied disrespectfully.
- “What the fuck do you mean by that?” Nathaniel shouted, already losing patience.
- “Don’t raise your voice at me, young man!” The lady snapped, coming even closer to Nathaniel, staring at him directly in the eyes.
- “I don’t have time for these games, lady. Call Victoria out here now or else.
- “Or else what?” Another voice echoed from behind, approaching the men.
- The cold, strong, and very authoritative voice belonged to a young, beautiful woman who stood before the men.
- “Victoria…” Nathaniel whispered with obvious hatred.
- “My mission is very simple, Nathan.” Victoria started.
- “You thought you were wiser than me, right? You broke my heart and took my credit card with you, Nathan!” She shouted, balling her fist.
- “Move on, lady,” one of the men suddenly said from behind.
- “Shut up!” Victoria shouted, shooting him directly in the chest. still maintaining eye contact with Nathaniel.
- A pro, you may say.
- Another of them broke eye contact; no one moved. Everyone stood still until the man dropped and stopped breathing.
- “What do you want?” Nathaniel finally spoke up.
- “Every fucking thing, you fucking own!” Victoria shouted in his face.
- “You can’t have that. We both know…” Nathanial replied in a lowered yet firm tone.
- “I am Victoria fucking Chanel, and I can have whatever I want whenever I want!!”
- "Yes, you can, but I am not on that list anymore.”
- “You were never on my list, you idiot!” Victoria shouted again, very pissed at how unbothered Nathaniel was.
- “I wasn’t?” Nathaniel asked, raising one eyebrow.
- “You are truly so dumb! After all these years, you still haven't found out!” Victoria shouted in the most appealing British accent out there.
- “What are you talking about?” Nathaniel asked, looking and sounding very confused.
- “In high school, the first time you cheated on me with Samantha and stole my money to buy yourself a car... Have you forgotten so quickly?”
- “What about it?”
- "Well, in case your brain decides to actually start working, you would also remember that Samantha was my best friend who got pregnant for you after your drunken one-night stand at the party I hosted.” Victoria stopped to breathe.
- “I don’t know what you’re talking about." Nathaniel said, looking at the two women before him.
- Her story was adding up very fast because Nathaniel knew exactly what she was talking about.
- “What do you mean you hosted the party? You were not even there!” Nathaniel asked, struggling to comprehend everything.
- “I wasn’t at the party, baby boy; I was at the party! It was hosted at my spare house, and everyone there worked for me. Everyone, including you,” her voice dropped.
- "Okay, okay, whatever... But who’s the one-night standby lady you’re talking about then?”
- “You really don’t remember your ex-girlfriend’s best friend, who was also your girlfriend for two weeks and who you also had sex with at a party when your ass was broke?” Victoria laughed for a bit, and then her expressions became even more serious than before.
- “I didn’t come here for your stupid throwback stories, Chanel!” Nathaniel said he was trying to change the subject.
- Victoria was on to something she wasn’t ready to let go of just yet, but Nathaniel is the victim of her story or whatever she has up her sleeves.
- “Nathaniel…” The lady beside Victoria spoke, and Nathaniel turned his head in her direction, still confused at the whole situation.
- “You don’t recognize her voice?” Victoria asked.
- “I obviously don't,” Nathaniel replied, turning back to Victoria.
- “The Samantha Davila you had drunken sex with at my planned party? You don’t remember the voice that moaned your name for two hours straight! Really?” Victoria’s tone became very aggressive, but she stood calmly, observing Nathaniel’s body language.
- Nathaniel was completely thrown off balance. He was caught off guard, and his shock was evident enough. Even his men were too stunned to speak.
- “What…” His voice couldn’t find its way up anymore.
- “Long time, big dick! Miss me?” Samantha said, smirking sexily.
- “Oh hell no!” Nathaniel shouted sharply, turning around, already dizzy.
- “Hell yes, young man! I am smarter than you and your pretty princess of a wife, Nathan; we both know!” Victoria said she was very proud of how well she had affected Nathaniel’s emotions.
- “You were pregnant?” Nathaniel asked, still lost.
- “Yeah. I dropped out of high school that year. second year of high school. When you stopped picking up my calls and you left town that year, I moved in with Victoria, and we’ve been on your tail since then.”
- “Where’s your baby?” One of the men asked.
- “He’s grown now, you idiot! He’s in college, and he now owns a bar.”
- “A bar?” Nathaniel scoffed, looking rather disappointed.
- “What the fuck does that question mean? A bar isn’t good enough for him or something? Like you’re better?” Victoria was already completely pissed off.
- “Lorenzo Saviour Davila is his name, and you can rot in fucking hell if you think his bar is disappointing!” Samantha shouted.
- “Look here, Nathan... What I want is easy. Give me the papers of your real estate company, and I’ll be on my way." Victoria’s voice deepened, and sudden tension arose.
- “On your knees with your hands in the air now!!” Samantha shouted while walking over to the men, holding up two guns at them.
- “Who the fuck do you think you are commanding us?” Dave, a tall, slanderous white man, spoke. He was one of Nathaniel’s men.
- “You’re fucking death!” Samantha said she immediately shot him in the head.
- By immediate instinct, other men went down on their knees and raised their hands, just as Samantha had commanded. Two out of six died in one night.
- “Can you stop shooting!?” Nathaniel hurled at Samantha and Victoria.
- “The papers, young man,” Victoria replied, holding her pistol to Nathaniel’s head.
- “Where are my men?” Nathaniel whispered, swallowing hard.
- “Over there,” Victoria replied, smiling and pointing at a big black car.
- “I want to see them first." Nathaniel said he was trying to bargain and mentally calculate an escape for himself and his men.
- “Give me the damn papers, you bastard!” Victoria shouted, reloading her pistol.
- “I would rather die.”
- “Fine! Have it your way then,” Victoria said, suddenly calm. She signaled to Samantha, and in the blink of an eye, two gunshots were heard and two men dropped dead.
- “No!!” Nathaniel shouted, dropping to his knees at the sight of his four dead men and their blood.
- Out of ten, he had six men left. If the other four were still alive...
- “Do you think I’m here to play games, Nathan?” Victoria smiled, resting the gun on Nathaniel’s nose.
- “Get the fuck away from me!” Nathaniel shouted aggressively, pushing Victoria. He got up full of fury.
- “You had better act right around me, you idiot!” Victoria shouted, shooting into the air beside Nathaniel.
- "Look, I’m sorry I broke your heart, and I’m sorry I ran off, leaving you and your baby, but we were young, naive, and stupid, and I was broke as shit! But it’s in the past now, okay? Can we please move on?” Nathaniel shouted, clearly frustrated.
- "Yes, we were young; yes, we were naive. But we sure as hell weren’t stupid!” Samantha shouted.
- “You said not to come armed! So you lied to me?” Nathaniel asked, suddenly realizing his state.
- “Oh no! We lied to you. There goes the devil calling sinners evil." Victoria snorted.
- “If you want your men and your wife alive this time next month, you had better corporate with every single thing I say, you hear me!?” Victoria shouted, still pointing the gun at Nathaniel, as she and Samantha slowly backed away to their car.
- About seven minutes later, they drove off into the woods.
- “Son of a bitch!” Nathaniel shouted, hitting his car.
- “Get your stupid asses up!” He shouted at the other men, who immediately scrambled to their feet and joined him in his car as they drove off.
- Victoria just left with his men, leaving him with two men and death threats. And how Samantha is now in the picture confuses him even more.
- He knows one thing for sure: Victoria isn’t going anywhere.
