Chapter 4

• I see Maximo with a stern face and clenched fists.
• " Hello husband, good morning " I try to sound as natural as possible.
• " Lia, stop acting stupid!!"
• " Tell me, did you have fun with Laura? " he approaches me and pushes me against the wall, making me scream.
• " Stop doing that!!!"
• " Let me go, you bastard!! " I push him back and he is left breathless.
• " Do whatever you want, Laura is waiting for me anyway " he leaves and I am so angry that I grab a glass and smash it against the wall.
• " SON OF A BITCH!! " I go up to my room and take a bath, maybe that will help me relax. After a while, I come out and look for something to wear.
• I grab my purse and send a message to Edward telling him that I am ready. Shortly after, Edward appears and greets me with a kiss on the cheek.
• " You look very beautiful."
• " Thank you, you look very handsome " I get into the car and we arrive at the cinema.
• " So, what movie do you want to watch?"
• " I like horror movies."
• " Well, then it will be a horror movie " he smiles.
• After several hours, we leave the cinema and the movie was truly terrifying, so much so that I cling to Edward like a tick.
• " Are you really scared? " he says jokingly.
• " Don't make fun of me, the movie was very scary."
• " Well, let's go eat something and forget about it."
• " Okay, let's go " we enter a restaurant and order our food.
• " So, how is your marriage going? " when Edward asks me that, I feel my stomach churn just thinking about everything that happened with Maximo.
• " Bad, but I have to endure this until the contract ends."
• " Let me tell you, your husband is an idiot " I feel his hand on mine, caressing it " how can he not see the wonderful woman he has in front of him " my heart skips a beat when Edward says those words. He had never said anything like that to me before and it makes me very emotional.
• " Thank you, Ed, I never... " I am interrupted by a voice I know all too well.
• " Am I interrupting something? " I see Maximo with a furious expression.
• " What are you doing here, Maximo? " I reply sharply, but when he is about to respond, Laura appears, taking his arm.
• " So, here you are... oh, hello Lia " how dare she come to greet me.
• " I want you to leave the house " Maximo orders.
• " And who the hell do you think you are to order me around " we both challenge each other with our eyes, but we are interrupted by Edward.
• " Darling, let's get out of here."
• " Darling?? Stop calling my wife that!!! " Edward laughs immediately.
• " If she were really your wife, you wouldn't be with another woman " he looks at Laura with disdain.
• " Enough, let's go, Ed, I'm not staying here " I take his hand, but as I am about to leave, my arm is grabbed by Maximo.
• " Be careful what you do " and he has the nerve to threaten me, idiot... I approach him and whisper in his ear.
• " Just like you enjoy yourself with your whore, I will do the same, my husband " I kiss him on the cheek and leave the place, but tears soon start to fall.
• " Baby, don't cry, I hate seeing you like this."
• " It's because he's an idiot!!!"
• " Do you... do you feel something for him? " that question leaves me pensive, as I do feel something for him, but I'm not exactly sure what.
• " I don't know... I don't know what I feel for him " he hugs me and I return the embrace.
• " Let's go have a few drinks, we need it."
• " Yes, you're right " we go to a bar and talk for hours until it's time to say goodbye, but I was very drunk, luckily Ed didn't notice.
• " Well, now I say goodbye, I enjoyed going out with you, I hope we can do it again."
• " Of course, Ed, I would love that " I kiss him on the cheek and then enter the house, but I am shocked to see what I see. Maximo is naked on top of Laura while they are having sex, this was definitely the last straw, I am tired; a tear falls down my cheek but I don't bother to wipe it... I grab the bottle in my hand and without thinking, I throw it at them.
• " Ahh, what the hell!! " they both stand up and his face pales when he sees me.
• " Listen to me, Maximo, I want this bitch out of my house right now, because if she doesn't leave, I swear I'm leaving and you'll see how you manage."
• " What the hell, Maximo..."
• " Laura, take your things and go " she looks at me as if she wants to kill me, but I look at her even worse.
• " Do you think he will stop looking for me because of this? Oh, dear, he always comes back to me " she's really getting on my nerves now. I grab her by the hair and, ignoring her screams, I throw her out of the house.
• " Bitch!!! " I close the door and lean against it, trying to breathe, but it's useless. I can't calm down. I feel so much anger that even my hands are shaking.
• " What the hell is wrong with you? Who gave you the right to come here and do that? " I approach him and give him a strong slap.
• " I'm fed up! You have no idea how much I hate you, how much I want to get far away from here, but I can't because of that damn contract."
• " I see you're very clear about it, so stop messing around now."
• " You're a damn bastard, and believe me, all this that you're doing will soon come back to you " I go to the kitchen and pour myself a double drink, downing it in one gulp. But I'm still so angry that I unintentionally squeeze the glass so hard that it breaks in my hand, making my hand bleed from the cuts.
• " Damn it! Just what I needed " at that moment, Maximo comes running and sees my hand.
• " What happened?"
• " A glass broke. Let me take care of it."
• " No, let me do it."
• " No! I don't want you to touch me " he sighs and removes his hand.
• " If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me " I say nothing and go upstairs to take care of myself. But when I bend down to grab alcohol, I lose my balance and hit myself hard, causing me to lose consciousness.
