The kitchen island provided a clear view of his office's glass door, and she found herself lost in thoughts of him until her phone beeped, snapping her back to reality. Seeing the caller ID, her eyes widened in alarm and she quickly made her way to their bedroom. Locking the door, she nervously put her phone to her ear.
