• Alpha Calloway called for pack guards before Professor Hale could take another step, and within minutes the chapel filled with the sound of boots against stone, torches casting long shadows across the broken stained glass.
• "Take her to the council holding rooms," Alpha Calloway said, his voice steady despite everything. "She'll answer this properly, in front of the full council, not in the dark."
• Professor Hale didn't resist as two guards flanked her, her expression settling into something almost peaceful, like a weight she'd carried too long had finally been set down, guilt and all. She looked back once before they led her out.
