• She bent down to my level and with considerable force grabbed my leash. I could see her reading the inscription on the leash. She hissed and said, “Interesting, you're the Alpha's pet and here you are unscathed.”
• I did not react to anything she said and although I would never admit it, I was beginning to feel anxious to have Cyrus come for me. Whoever this woman was I did not like her or whatever intentions she had for me.
