- I wake up from a restless sleep, my head still foggy from the nightmares that wouldn’t leave me alone. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Sophie hurt, trapped, or worse, slipping away from me. As if it’s not enough to have a group like The Revolution out there biting on our heels, I also have to worry about someone that’s staying in my home.
- I sit up from the bed, rubbing my face, trying to shake off the lingering dread. I can see the morning light streaming through the cracks of the curtain, and I only have one thought: I need coffee. Or something to clear my head and get me through this day.
