Chapter 12 Forest

• Meridian Water
• I was running through the forest, feeling the earth beneath my feet, the wind rushing past me. I felt free. The trees seemed to cheer for me, their branches swaying with the gusts I left behind. Suddenly, my senses heightened. I stopped, scanning my surroundings, searching for the threat my instincts had detected. I inhaled deeply, trying to catch the scent. It was the same. I turned in place, looking for the source, and then I found him.
• He approached slowly, but behind him, others emerged, surrounding me, their growls filling the air. Then, a shrill whimper escaped his lips.
