• I pinched the skin on my forehead, exiting Sheila's chamber. I had stayed up all night waiting for her, but she never came back. I had thought she stayed somewhere else, but she was neither in the witches' quarters nor with Brielle and Ria nor in my office.
• I walked so hastily, like a freaking lunatic who hasn't had his medication yet, as I made my way to my chamber. I knew that was pretty stupid to think Sheila spent the night there when that would be the last thing she'd do. But I was running out of ideas, and I just wanted to find her, to know she was right here in the castle.
