Chapter 4
- Waking up the next morning, Stiles immediately realised that he had fallen asleep the moment he opened the message.
- Staring at his door, trepidation reeked all over him as it dawned on him that he hadn't locked his door last night.
- Jumping to his feet he immediately bolted the quaky door and slammed his back against the door.
- His heart thumped faster than usual as he stared at his phone and the documents and pictures on his bed.
- Walking over to the bed he immediately packed the pictures and kept them back in the box under his wooden bed.
- Picking up the satellite phone, he read the message.
- "Stiles Henderson, if you are seeing this that would only mean that my assistant Jonathan Jacobs has finally found you and you have refused to come home as I requested."
- "Nevertheless, stay safe, lie low until we find the culprits behind My wife, your mom's death and bring them to justice…Your dad, Mr Henderson."
- The message was short but direct to the point.
- Stiles immediately closed the message as he sat on his bed and gazed into his partly broken ceiling.
- His gaze swept through the room from the torn calendar to the worn-out carpet, then to the old wooden bed he was now lying on.
- "What if I made a mistake?"
- "What if I had taken the access card to the Royal Suites."
- "I mean I'm the only heir to Henderson Global Conglomerate and here I'm wallowing in this God-forsaken dungeon."
- Stiles spoke softly to himself.
- Jumping up from the bed immediately, he picked up his satellite phone scrolled his phone and dialled the number of Jonathan Jacobs, which was saved as J.Jacobs.
- As though the call was being expected, Jonathan Jacobs immediately picked up the call.
- "Young master! What is going on?"
- Jonathan Jacob's voice was barely above whispers yet laced with a truckload of authority.
- "Nothing much…I was just breezing through the satellite phone and I decided to test out your number."
- Stiles said, his voice was laced with a mixture of exhilaration and anxiety.
- "Okay, that's great."
- "Have you seen the message from your dad?"
- Jonathan Jacobs asked his voice was barely above whispers.
- "Yes…I have seen the message."
- "Can you meet me at Lex Suites in 34 minutes?"
- Jonathan Jacobs asked as he donned his hat in his ultra-luxury room in the Henderson's mansion.
- Just like Stiles had rightly said, he was living too wealthy for just a personal assistant.
- But what do you expect from the personal assistant to the most wealthy and influential man on the continent?
- "Lex suites in 34 minutes?"
- "Okay, I will be there…I hope there isn't any issue?"
- Stiles asked just to be clear.
- "Um…I'm afraid there is, young master… make sure you are there in the next 33 minutes."
- Jonathan Jacobs said, his voice reeking with urgency and a hint of trepidation.
- Dropping the call immediately, Stiles hurriedly did all his chores just to avoid a fallout with the Thomas's.
- As he was running down the stairs, he bumped into Raya who immediately blocked him.
- "Where are you running to this early?"
- Raya asked, her gaze was all over Stiles as she noticed something in Stiles' pocket.
- "What's that in your pocket?"
- Stiles immediately swallowed a hard bump.
- "It's nothing that should concern you, at least not yet."
- Stiles said as he tried to push his way through, but Raya immediately held him and pecked his cheeks.
- Stiles was dumbfounded as he stared at her.
- "About what I told you yesterday…how…"
- "Raya I have got important issues to handle, could you please step aside."
- Stiles interrupted her, staring at him, Raya stepped out of the way.
- As Stiles got to the door, he turned and gazed at Raya who was staring at him in disappointment.
- "Raya, please you have to understand that I'm not the right person for you."
- "Just do as your parents want… get married to Antonio Henry."
- Stiles said as he immediately closed the door and ran off to the garbage.
- Climbing his old bicycle which he had also taken with him from the orphanage, he rode off to meet Jonathan Jacobs at the Lex suites.
- As Stiles rode down the street, a lot of things ran through his head.
- The memories of Mrs Anderson, the matron of the local orphanage handing him that file ran through his mind like a well-edited video.
- The cold breeze hit his skin as he rode as fast as he could.
- Staring at his watch, he gasped as he now had just 5 minutes left to meet Jonathan Jacobs at the Lex suites.
- "What does he want to tell me that he couldn't just say over the satellite phone?"
- Stiles asked himself as he increased his speed all in a bid to beat the time Jonathan Jacobs had given him.
- Meanwhile, back at Thomas's mansion upstairs, Raya and her mom, Mrs Lisa stared at Stiles as he rode down the street.
- Mrs Lisa damps Raya's tears with 100-dollar bills and throws them into the fireplace.
- "Don't worry Raya, we will get him one day…just one day."
- Her voice was laced with a mixture of comfort and assurance as she smirked manically.
- ************************************************
- Staring at his watch again, Stiles now only had 36 seconds.
- Spotting the gates of the ultra-premium suite which shimmered in the low sunlight, Stiles immediately parked his bicycle and chained it to an electric pole nearby.
- From afar, Stiles could only imagine the level of luxury inside of the Lex suites if just the gate was this luxurious.
- Walking closer to the main gate the security men stopped him.
- "Hey…we don't allow beggars in here."
- The voice of one of the guards broke the silence.
- "Hey guys I'm no beggar, I'm here to see a…"
- Before he could complete his sentence, the female guard whose name tag read Margaret landed him a resounding slap which echoed through the whole suite, causing Jonathan Jacob's fork to fall off his hand in the private lounge where he sat.
- "Young master!"
- Jonathan Jacobs said as he hurriedly ran to the gate.
