• The car came to a smooth stop, the city lights flickering outside as the engine hummed to a quiet halt. Miss Laura blinked, momentarily distracted by the sudden shift in the atmosphere. She glanced out the window, then back at Stiles, her thoughts momentarily interrupted.
• “Oh,I suppose we’ll have to leave the second date question for another time.”
• Miss Laura said , pulling herself together with a small, half-embarrassed chuckle.
