Chapter 9 Not Sure Who To Trust
- A chill ran through my spine as her words struck a chord—Judith's description was eerily accurate. Noticing the confusion on my face, she clicked her tongue in frustration and tapped my forehead.
- “Haven't I told you not to trust people so easily? And now you're doubting me!” she scolded.
- Judith sighed, throwing an arm casually over my shoulder while steering me toward her house. “I've run into that priest before,” she said. “He's a despicable man, utterly ruthless. He uses all sorts of underhanded methods to hurt others. Years ago, I had the misfortune of crossing paths with him. I should've dealt with him back then, but I let him slip away. I never thought he'd show his face again, let alone stir up trouble like this.”
