Chapter 7 A Ruthless Murderer
- “Are you going to confess willingly, or should I have my subordinates offer you the best hospitality we can provide? Perhaps I should personally force a confession out of you instead?” Huxley asked in a deep voice.
- Jasper, standing off to the side, shuddered when he heard Huxley offer to personally force a confession.
- He was one of the few who had witnessed Huxley carry out interrogations using his thirteen golden needles.
- That kind of interrogation could only be likened to the most hellish of torments.
- He would rather die than be tortured into confession by Huxley.
- Lorcan burst into hearty laughter and staunchly declared, “If I've been bested, then I shall accept defeat. I can accept being outdone by a formidable person like you, but rules and principles matter in the underworld. I promised to keep my lips sealed, so I absolutely cannot reveal even the slightest bit of information.”
- “So, you won't talk even if I were to kill you?” Huxley asked in a low voice.
- As soon as the words were spoken, dozens of tattooed men brandished their submachine guns, aiming squarely at Lorcan.
- Swoosh!
- They were all ready to fire at any given moment.
- “Fire away, then! What are you waiting for?” Lorcan yelled, exuding an air of authority.
- “What if I kill your wife and child instead?” Huxley asked and raised his hand.
- Jasper tactfully handed over a military-grade, semi-automatic pistol.
- Huxley held the pistol tightly as he loaded it smoothly and efficiently. His right index finger rested on the trigger with the muzzle pressed against the forehead of Aloysius, Lorcan's eldest son. “I watched my wife jump off a building to her death. Do you want to watch your own son get shot?” Huxley asked.
- Lorcan's brows furrowed, forming a deep frown as he said, “One's actions should not harm one's family members.”
- In response, a gunshot echoed.
- Aloysius's eyes widened in shock, but before he could even react, everything in his vision went black.
- A gaping hole appeared in his head, and blood came pouring out of it.
- He was as dead as one could possibly be after getting shot in the head.
- Upon witnessing the scene, everyone was undoubtedly taken aback.
- Lorcan's eyes instantly welled up with tears, his whole body trembling as he screamed, “Aloysius!”
- Huxley once again pressed the gun barrel against the forehead of Lorcan's second son, Barrett. “Speaking of family to someone who has lost his own? Are you wishing for your son's death to come quicker?” he asked in a cold and stern voice.
- At this point, Lorcan was thoroughly terrified, finally realizing that the man before him was a ruthless murderer, cold-hearted and as deadly as they come.
- “Who was responsible for my wife's death?” Huxley pressed on.
- Lorcan was heartbroken and furious, he cursed, “You deserve nothing but misfortune! It serves you right that your wife was violated—”
- Upon hearing these words, Huxley's expression changed drastically. Without any hesitation, he swiftly fired two shots, ending the lives of Barrett and Carlos instantly.
- Blood splattered on his face, making his features appear somewhat menacing.
- “My sons... My sons...” Just like that, Lorcan had lost all three of his sons in quick succession. Even the most stoic of men would crumble under such circumstances, and he was no exception. Despite his usual resilience, he couldn't help but shed tears, sobbing uncontrollably.
- “You're a very stubborn one, but I am determined to make you yield.” Huxley said. He then turned around and ordered, “Go, bring everyone from the Zander family here.”
- “Affirmative!” Jasper replied and quickly left.
- “What are you going to do?” Upon hearing Huxley mention his entire family, Lorcan couldn't help but feel a sense of panic and confusion.
- After about ten minutes, sixteen or seventeen young women were brought in.
- They were all dressed in luxurious, opulent attire, a testament to their privileged upbringing. At that moment, they were all trembling with fear, their finery a stark contrast to the seven or eight submachine guns pointed menacingly at them.
- “Dad!”
- “Grandpa!”
- Upon seeing the lifeless bodies on the ground and Lorcan, who was restrained, they couldn't help but burst into tears.
- “This has nothing to do with them! They haven't done anything wrong, so why are you bringing them here?” Lorcan exclaimed anxiously.
- With an expressionless look on his face, Huxley asked, “What did my wife do wrong, then?”
- As he spoke, he casually waved his hand, signaling Jasper and his crew to get ready to open fire.
- Upon witnessing the scene before him, Lorcan felt as if a knife was twisted in his heart. With his body trembling, he knelt and pleaded, “I'll talk! I'll talk! Please, let them go first!”
- “Do you really think you're in a position to negotiate with me?” Huxley rebuked.
