Chapter 28 Paying The Price

• I moaned into our kiss as my head started to feel light. I closed my eyes to focus more on our heated kiss and the only thought that remained in my mind was that of the man in front of me. If I understood things correctly, then the man who was hungrily kissing me as if he was on the verge of devouring me was in fact Antony’s older brother.
• Honestly, I don’t even remember his name because no one who knew of him really wanted to talk of him. Just like all the things that he is rumored to do and have done; his existence was taboo. Talking about him, referring to him, and also acknowledging his existence was forbidden as if a silent agreement had been signed by the few who knew to forget his existence. The only time that my father brought him up was to warn us of his existence a few years after my sister and Anthony got engaged in an agreement between our two families.
• “Anthony has an older brother. Actually, he’s not supposed to exist, and we will treat it as such according to his family’s wishes,” my father informed us without much interest.
