- EVE’S POV
- The next morning, the glass-paneled walls of Fabulous Age Entertainment glistened under the soft sun. I stood outside Pharsa’s office, smoothed down the hem of my dress, and exhaled.
- A day of rest at my apartment had done wonders; the sharp pain in my stomach was gone, my body almost fully recovered. My face, though, was still slightly pale. To mask it, I had chosen a color-blocked dress — bold tones of coral and teal. Against my skin, the colors made me look fresher, more youthful, alive. Exactly the effect I wanted.
