Chapter 10

• EVE’S POV
• The first thing I did when I got home was collapse onto my bed for a nap. After the crazy morning I’d had, I needed to reclaim some of my lost sleep. By the time I woke up, the sun had already begun its descent, painting the sky in soft hues of orange.
• Remembering my small victory from earlier, I decided that tonight called for a hotpot celebration. Alone? Yes. Pathetic? Maybe. But at least I was used to it. A solo hotpot wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it was my way of rewarding myself.
