Chapter 38 The Hot Doctor's Touch (1)

  • The pain in my neck had been unbearable for days, a sharp, relentless ache that twisted down my spine and made every movement a quiet hell. I’d finally caved and booked an appointment at the hospital, and today was the day. I shuffled into the sterile white room, clutching my purse like it was some kind of lifeline, my breath hitching as I tried to stretch out the stiffness. The door clicked shut behind me, and I looked up—and froze.
  • Standing there, adjusting a clipboard with long, steady fingers, was the doctor. My doctor. And God help me, he was hot. Even with that damn nose mask covering half his face, I could tell he was something else. His skin was a deep, rich brown, smooth and flawless under the harsh fluorescent lights, and his eyes—dark, intense, piercing—locked onto mine for a split second before flicking back to his notes. I couldn’t see his mouth, but I didn’t need to. Those eyes were enough to make my knees weak.
  • He was tall, so tall, towering over me even from across the room. His broad shoulders filled out the crisp white coat, the fabric straining just slightly over the hard lines of his muscles. I could see the definition in his arms as he moved, the way his biceps flexed under the sleeves, and my mind went places it had no business going—not in a hospital, not with my neck screaming at me. But I couldn’t help it. He was built like some kind of god, all power and grace, and I was just… standing there, staring, my mouth dry and my heart thudding against my ribs.
