• Emily's POV
• "You can do this, Emily. You can." I could hear Emily's voice, calm and encouraging but I was beyond responding. My rage was boiling over, my eyes bulging like they were about to pop out of my head. Every bone in my body felt like it was shattering, and I let out a wild, ear-piercing scream.
• That's when I saw him - Magnus. He strolled in, looking all concerned, but I knew better. He didn't care about me; he only showed up because he heard my screams. Ava rushed to him, talking a mile a minute, but Magnus wasn't having it. They approached me together, and I watched them like a predator sizing up its prey.
