• "Stop this car, Ren! Fucking stop the car," Lilian kept screaming in the backseat as I sped down the road, but I paid no attention to her even as she was desperately trying to stop me from driving.
• "Stop this, Lilian. You are going to get us both killed if you continue like this," I said to her when she tried to force me to stop the car, but instead, she bit my shoulder so hard and even though it was hurting me, I tried not to pay attention to it. I was trying to protect her from crying later. I didn't want her to come back crying her eyes out after finding out that her sweet crush has a girlfriend. I understand the feeling, but does she understand that I was trying to save her the pain?
