- Kenzo sat in his office, fingers drumming against the glass table as he stared at the open laptop before him. The reports blurred together, numbers and words losing meaning as his mind drifted—again—to Helena.
- He leaned back in his chair with an exasperated sigh, rubbing his temples. He had been doing this all day—trying to focus, only to find his thoughts slipping back to her. His jaw clenched as the memory of her lips on his replayed in his head. The audacity. The nerve. She had kissed him like nothing had happened, as if she had never walked away, never left him with nothing but a cold signature on divorce papers.
