• Amelia’s POV
• Dad had finally been released from prison. Carolina had given me the name of the hospital where Daniel was. But I couldn't go. I needed to be home for Dad.
• When he arrived with Lorena, I hurried to hug Dad before he could cross the threshold. He returned the hug, but it wasn't as strong as his usual embraces. His arms were limp around me, as if he was afraid to touch me, afraid of who I was, but I ignored that thought and looked at him.
