Chapter 28 — A Let Down

• We settled in our private jet. After a lot had gone on. I leaned back and stared out the window, my mind heavy with thoughts I didn’t want to entertain. I just wanted to get out of here and handle what I'd been tasked with. Leaving Braila behind didn’t sit right with me, but given everything going on, I had no choice. I hate the thought of her being alone, especially when people see her as a criminal. A whore. I need to search for a way to protect her—make things right, somehow.
