Chapter 8 Lacey

  • Thoughts of Ellise clouded Alexandre's mind as he sat in his study, legs propped up on his desk. To him, Ellise was so beautiful inside out and just maybe, it was the reason why he was so drawn to her. He loved everything about her.
  • Her smile was breathtaking, her beautiful brown eyes were enchanting and she was everything he wanted in a woman. She was delicate but firm, wary but strong willed, the list could go on and on.
  • His chain of thoughts was broken off the moment the door opened. He looked up and his breath hitched as he watched her walk in. She looked so adorable in her pink shorts and large t-shirt which belonged to Alexandre. Her long hair was in two french braids that made her brown eyes pop. She gave him a sweet smile, handing him a cup of caramel latte.
  • "Morning, handsome" she said, pressing an endearing kiss to his forehead. She seemed to have become really bold and he liked it.
  • He closed his eyes, dazed by the feeling of her soft lips pressed to his forehead. Then, he smiled and made her sit on his lap. She chuckled, placing her arms around his neck loosely.
  • "Do you want me to get you your meds?" She asked.
  • "No, I have taken them already" he responded
  • She smiled, her tongue darting out of her mouth to swipe across her full lips.
  • 'She's driving me nuts' he thought.
  • His lips met hers in a sensual kiss and he smiled when she moaned into the kiss.
  • "Stay here with me" he whispered when they pulled apart, his finger tracing her eyebrows and nose.
  • "Trust me, I would love to. But, Cecilia needs me right now in the kitchen" she said.
  • "Alright, princessa. I'll be waiting for you" he rasped.
  • She grinned and kissed him again, briefly before leaving his study.
  • .....
  • "How do you feel about my dear boy?" Cecilia asked Ellise as they made chicken sausages together.
  • "Xandre isn't as bad as he seemed. I realize that now. He makes me feel loved and he's such an amazing man. I think I'm falling for him hard" she responded, a pink flush on her cheeks.
  • "It's very clear that you love him already, my child" Cecilia said, giving her a warm smile.
  • "Really?"
  • "Of course. The glow is all around you. It's clear in the way your eyes light up when I mention his name. You are in love, El"
  • Ellise blushed, fiddling with her fingers nervously.
  • "I just hope I'm not making a mistake" she mumbled.
  • "Honey, every relationship has it's ups and downs. It's up to the two of you to keep holding on to each other" Cecilia soothed, placing a hand on her shoulder.
  • Ellise smiled and embraced her.
  • "Thanks Cecilia"
  • The tell-tale clicks of a pair of red stilettos echoed from the passage way. Ellise froze, wondering who it was.
  • The door opened and a tall ginger haired lady walked in. She was dressed in what could be best described as a slutty dress , her ginger coloured curls in a ponytail. She had an unfriendly aura around her. She looked like the kind of lady who wouldn't back down until she gets what she wants.
  • Cecilia looked displeased to see her
  • 'Who the hell is she?
  • What business does she have with my boyfriend? How did she even get in?' Ellise thought.
  • "Well, well, who are you?" the ginger haired lady said, approaching Ellise.
  • "I should be the one asking you that question" Ellise spat, glaring at her.
  • "I see that my Alex decided to bring a slut home. I'll deal with you. Who do you think you are?"
  • "Why are you here?" Cecilia suddenly asked.
  • The stranger frowned, placing a hand on her hip.
  • "Still haven't gotten over the fact that Alex is mine?" She asked, smiling coyly.
  • Ellise clenched her fist. She was desperately in need of bashing her skull in.
  • "Bitch, how dare you talk to her like that? You can't just waltz into my boyfriend's home and insult us" Ellise quipped, her eyes burning with fury.
  • The stranger growled. She looked pissed at this point.
  • "He's mine! you slut!"
  • Ellise chuckled bitterly.
  • "Me? I'm not the one who uses make up to cover her acne infested face. I'm not the one who dresses in slutty dresses just to get in bed with anyone with manhoods" Ellise hissed.
  • The stranger gasped, raising her hand to hit her.
  • "Lacey" a rapsy deep voice stopped her.
  • Ellise smiled and sauntered away from Lacey who immediately plastered a sickenly sweet smile on her face.
  • "Alex, how are you? I just returned from Philly just to see you. How are you doing, baby" she said, reaching out to touch his chest. He clenched his jaw, moving away from her.
  • "Why are you here?" He demanded, his facial expression cold and unforgiving.
  • The stranger immediately feigned hurt.
  • "Can't I see my fiance anymore?"
  • Ellise froze, shocked by the stranger's statement.
  • Alex clenched his jaw, stiffening visibly.
  • 'What the hell is she talking about?' Ellise thought.
  • "Xan is that true?" She asked, hoping that he would prove her wrong. Instead, he remained silent.
  • "Oh my gosh, Alex. You didn't tell her? Why?" Lacey said, smirking.
  • "Xan, say something" Ellise implored. When he didn't say anything, tears filled her eyes.
  • "Is she your fiancee?"
  • The look on his face confirmed it all. She stormed out of the kitchen. She felt used. She felt betrayed and it hurt even more because she believed she was in love with him.
  • Just maybe, he'd finally succeeded in breaking her.
  • ...
  • Alexandre tugged at the roots of his hair, his anxiety getting the better of him. Cursing under his breath, he punched the wall, pain shooting through his knuckles.
  • He guessed he deserved it.
  • 'What am I going to do now?' he thought.
  • "Baby, are you okay?"
  • He flinched, moving away from her. She looked at him with a hurt expression on her face.
  • "Lacey" he stated, taking a deep breath.
  • "Yes, darling?"
  • He clenched his fist, inhaling deeply.
  • "Your presence in my home is not needed" he said.
  • She gasped, her eyes blazing with rage.
  • "Are you kicking me out of your home?"
  • "Yes, now leave before I throw you out!"
  • She clenched her fist, her chin jutting out defiantly.
  • "I am not going anywhere. So, make me"
  • His frustration was growing by the moment and it irked him.
  • He grabbed a tumbler, smashing it against the wall in anger.
  • "Damnit, Lacey. Just leave!" He growled. She flinched moving away from him.
  • "You can't kick me out. You don't scare me" she hissed.
  • He growled, punching the wall with anger pulsing through him. She gapsed, moving farther away from him. "How could you do this to me?!"
  • She yelled.
  • "Lacey, get out" he ordered, his breathing heavy.
  • She closed her mouth, her lower lip, trembling.
  • "Fine, I'll leave. Just know that this is not over yet" she said and stormed out of his room.
  • Upset, he punched the wall thrice and let out a yell of frustration.
  • He was such a mess.
  • He stormed out of his room, ignoring his bleeding and throbbing knuckles.
  • "Ellie, please open the door" he pleaded, pounding his fist against the door frantically.
  • "Go away!"
  • His heart broke at the sound of her sobbing.
  • "Please, Ellie. I have to explain. Let me in, please!"
  • "I don't want a fucking explanation!"
  • "Please" he said, his voice weak from defeat.
  • "Leave me alone! What the fucking hell?! What part of leave me alone don't you understand?!"
  • He cringed, Ellie wasn't one to curse a lot.
  • Sighing, he rested his forehead against the door. Thereafter, he slid down the wall, bringing his knees to his chest.
  • 'Please Ellie, don't hate me. You're my only fix.
  • I need you...'
  • He closed his eyes, frustration flooding his mind.
  • .....
  • An hour later, Xandre was awoken by the light tapping on his shoulder.
  • He groaned in discomfort, his whole body aching due to his position by the door. He opened his eyes to see Ellise glaring at him.
  • "What do you think you're doing?" She demandeded, her tone laced with venom.
  • "Ellie, I need to talk you" he said, his voice hoarse.
  • She scowled and turned to walk away. But, he grabbed her hand, stopping her from leaving.
  • "Just hear me out" he rapsed.
  • "Fine" she huffed, walking into her room with him hot on her heels. She sat down on the chair, keeping her distance from him.
  • Then, he sat down on the bed, his gaze dropping to the ground.
  • "Lacey's parents and my parents made a strong alliance before I was born. Lacey's boyfriend died a year into their relationship. She was very depressed. She tried to kill herself twice. One day, my parents made my brother and I to visit her at the hospital. She grew fond of me and I felt suffocated...trapped even. She became even more mentally unstable when I made it clear that I wasn't interested. Her parents threatened to put off the alliance. My selfish parents forced me to get engaged with her. She started to get better but I am trapped. I have you now. I am madly and deeply in love with you. it's you that I want.
  • I don't love Lacey. I only love you" he told her.
  • After his words sank in, Ellise walked over to him, her gaze tender and affectionate.
  • "I'm sorry I doubted you" she whispered, cupping his jaw.
  • "We'll find a way. Promise me that you will never let me go" he whispered. She caressed his hair, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips.
  • "I promise"
