Chapter 19 Primal Hunt
- The moment I knelt before the cold, locked bars of the golden cage, the fire in my skin ignited like a wildfire. All the control in Xandros's amber eyes evaporated as my nakedness was revealed through the iron bars. The only sound echoing in the darkness of the dungeon was the ragged, wild breaths of us both.
- "You asked for this, little bird," Xandros snarled, his voice a deep, guttural growl. "Now you will pay for that cage."
- His enormous hands reached out and, through the iron bars, grabbed my hair at the roots with a painful force. He pulled my head back so hard that my neck was completely exposed, and my windpipe was constricted. The groan that escaped my lips only made the obsessive grin on his face grow wider.
