Chapter 111

  • After the intensity of the contest, I needed a rest. The sun was setting, casting everything in a golden light over the palace grounds. I made my way out of the palace and started off toward Minister Hong's house in hopes of catching a glimpse of Eun Kyung. She was the only one who could soothe my turbulent thoughts, although we had known each other only for a very short time.

  • It was already dark when I came to the house. Jumping over the back fence and tiptoeing around, I was trying to look for her room. Luckily enough, I saw her standing at the edge of the pond; her features were so delicate under the moonlight.
